Magnolia Scene Journal - www.quixoticcards.com

It has been a little while since I first posted my altered SMASH journal, a couple of months actually!  Life has this nasty habit of interfering with stamping plans.  Anyway, I finally got round to some “just for pleasure” stamping and colouring recently and it just so happens that I ended up masking and stamping a little Magnolia Stamps scene.

I have a thing for all things fantasy, especially dragons, so when Lilyrose the Dragon was released earlier this year, I was incapable of resisting.

I masked and stamped the little scene using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card (my absolute favourite for colouring with alcohol based markers) before colouring with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (full details below).

I coloured the dragon with my blue shades, then when finished, used the Colourless Blender pen to go over the colouring and remove spots, to give the impression of scales.  I really like the effect, it adds that little extra detail that I enjoy in a coloured image.

The wording on my page?  *grin*  When Paul saw this, he commented that Lilyrose looked like an ice dragon, so the idea of a cute little ice dragon taking a holiday somewhere warmer came to mind.  I went with that theme when choosing my paper (also by Magnolia).  The stickers are from an Echo Park 12×12 kit.  I embellished with Make it Crafty Lasercut Chipboard and the gorgeous Dies by SCACD – Garden Corners.

That’s all for now!  Hopefully the next little scene will pop up a little quicker. 😉Magnolia Stamps - Lilyrose Dragon Scene - www.quixoticcards.com
