Today brings a new Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge.  This week our hostess is the lovely Jessie and she has asked us to EMBELLISH IT!  She wants to see THREE embellishments on everyone’s cards/projects this week.

I tend to find challenges fairly tricksy.  I’m very much a “freestyle” girl, I don’t like working to a plan, so I tend to get all itchy and fidgety when working on challenge cards.  The strange thing, I usually end up really liking how they turn out!  This challenge was particularly tricky because (in case you hadn’t noticed) I don’t tend to use a lot of embellishments.  That’s actually quite funny, since I have an incredible stash of them. 😉

Anyway, here’s my card for the challenge, featuring RUBY THE RINGMISTRESS from the Circus Girls release (also available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).  It still ended up pretty clean and simple in style, as I used 1. a die cut sentiment (the sentiment stamp comes with Ruby) 2. a heart shaped button and 3. some small crystal gems around the image.

You’ll notice that I also played with my sewing machine again.  I had forgotten how much I love the finished look stitching can give, so you can expect to see more of this from me now I’ve rediscovered it. 😉

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. The designer paper is from an older Bo Bunny collection.  I’m doing pretty well at the moment, using up my vast hoard of scraps and papers.  There’s still a long way to go, but I’m not adding to it at the moment, so hopefully I’ll actually manage to downsize a bit!  The sentiment and mat were diecut using MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags STAX.

I hope you’re having a great weekend.  Make sure you stop by the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps challenge blog and join in – we love seeing your creations, and of course if you play along using a KKS stamp you could win the stamp featured on our hostess Jessie’s challenge card!
