It’s a good message, and at least for me a timely reminder! Yes, I love the sentiment that comes with one of the latest Susana Loves Stamps (SCACD) releases, well, I love them all but this one really speaks to me at the moment.
If you saw my post last Friday, you will be aware that two new sets were released – Oddly Sweet Curiosities set #5 and the Mechanimals. They are already proving a hit, which is fantastic!
Both collections are available in rubber, direct from Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design or for International customers from Quixotic Paperie in the UK!
Today’s card features one of the awesome Mechanimals – Wise Owl (with accompanying sentiment). As you can see, I had great fun colouring this one up. Remember – while metal looks great in the more obvious colours, it also looks fantastic when you go for it with colour!
I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (available in the UK from Jackson’s Art Supplies).
You can’t see it well on the front view, but I also used a couple of other SCACD stamps to add extra interest to the background.
See? I used the compass and lightning stamps from the Susana Loves Stamps Nature’s Direction set, stamped in gold ink. I also embellished the corner using one of my favourite Dies by SCACD Classic Corner dies.
The designer paper I used was originally a fairly muted spotty blue, which I went to town on using a Prima Marketing Inc Stencil and ink sprays! The Gold Acrylic Paint Dabber also came out to distress the edges of all my layers.
Beyond fabulous. I love everything about it!

Having just had a go at colouring this beauty with Distress Inks, I think I may run away and cry. Elaine you have made a difficult stamp totally stunning hunny, awesome work. Will go and practice more with the inks before I dare let my owl see daylight. Hugs Squirrel xx
