This month I am finding myself inspired by Anna- Karin Evaldsson’s colour scheme for her creations in the latest issue of Craft Stamper Magazine (Mar 2014). I love bold, vibrant colour and Anna-Karin’s cards and tags were a perfect splash of colour in a very grey month!

As you can see, I was inspired by the card featured on the magazine cover when I created my card. Mine is simpler and a little less muted in tone. I used a Sizzix Susan’s Garden Dogwood die set which I received as a gift at Christmas, along with a MFT Die-Namics die, which I cut and layered in cardstock several times to give the look of chipboard. The top layer is Coredinations cardstock, sanded to give a distressed look. The sentiment is from a PTI set I have had for a while.

The background was created using the Ranger blending tool with Distress Inks in Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean. The edges were distressed with a distressing tool and inked with Gathered Twigs. I created a mat from Coredinations Tim Holtz Distress cardstock, which I sanded and distressed.

That’s it!  This one is on the way to someone special who needs a little extra cheer on their birthday this year. I’m hoping it will bring a smile.
