Stamping Bella Meowy Christmas Stamp Set:

The new Stamping Bella release includes some great new Christmas or “holiday” images. Meowy Christmas is one of my favourite stamp sets in the release, so cute and the images are fairly quick and easy to colour. In the stamp set you get several stamps so you can stamp and create your own scenes! The set also has a coordinating Cut It Out die set.

Copic Colouring Christmas Baubles:

So that you can get a really good look at how I coloured the Christmas baubles, I created a separate video focusing on colouring just the baubles, in real time. The video is annotated so you can see exactly which colours I am using and at which points. If you want to see exactly how I layer and blend the colours, and precisely how I use the colourless blender to create the highlights this is the video for you!

Step by Step Colouring Guide:

For easy reference I have also created a step by step Copic colouring Christmas baubles image for you, featuring just the blue bauble from the video – the technique is the same for all three ornaments in the image.

Please feel free to save this image or pin it to your Pinterest board. It is intended for your reference. I do ask that you do not repost this image on your own blog or directly send the image to other people, instead please direct them to this blog post to obtain it for themselves.

Important tips to remember:

  • Follow the shape of the bauble when colouring. As you will see in the video above, I curve my strokes around the bauble and try to maintain this throughout. This will make blending easier.
  • When using the colourless blender pen to create highlights, use a relatively juicy pen (i.e. not one that is in desperate need of refilling, but not one that is overfilled and dripping) and work in stages. Start forming the shapes that you want, then stop and wait for the paper to dry before going back over them to strengthen the effect. If you lay too much of the blender down at once you will create a mess and end up with larger highlights than you intended!
