If you follow me on Instagram you may be aware that last weekend Paul and I went to meet our new baby nephew – Theo. He’s just approaching three weeks old this week, and he is the most adorable little squidgable! Luckily we get to see him again this weekend too along with his big sister.

Of course, I had to make a card to take along with all the gifts we had collected in anticipation of meeting him. Fortunately I had the gorgeous new Stamping Bella stamp sets to help me out. 😉 I also made a card for the new big sister, which I’ll be sharing on Friday.

Let’s take a look!

Stamping Bella Set of Dragons Baby Card:

These adorable dragons are perfect for sweet baby cards (boy or girl), and I chose to colour the dragons in coloured pencils for a slightly softer look. Full supply details can be found below.

The set comes with four dragons – I used two of them on this card along with the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Card-Making Supplies Used:

Rubber stamp: Stamping Bella Set of Dragons stamp set (coordinating die set also used).

The entire Stamping Bella January 2017 release is also now available to pre-order here in the UK at Dies to Die For!

The image was coloured using Prismacolor Pencils UK link*/US link* on paper from a Stonehenge 8×8 paper pad UK link*/US link* – I really like this paper for coloured pencil work.

I use my MISTI stamp tool UK link*/US link* for all stamping.

The patterned paper is an old Magnolia Stamps design from my stash – I WILL get my hoarded papers used up this year!

Along with the coordinating dies for the stamp set I also used the following dies:

Paper Smooches Frame 3 Die UK link*/US link*
MFT Die-namics Hi Rise Alphas Die Set (believe this one may be retired)
L’il Inker Designs Stitched Rounded Rectangle Die set

I create my own card blanks using 300gsm cardstock, a Fiskars High Precision Personal Paper Trimmer */US link*, a Martha Stewart Scoring Board*/US link*. and bone folder*/US link*.

Prismacolor Pencil Colours Used:

I used the following colours on both little dragon images:

Goldenrod, Sable, Cream, Burnt Ochre, Slate Grey, Cloud Blue, White

Prismacolor Pencils Note & Offers:

Just a quick note regarding Prismacolor coloured pencils. I have previously noted my complaints about the quality of these pencils and my preference for other brands due to sharpening and breakage issues. Recently I picked up a new set of these pencils and found that I am experiencing far less problems, in fact I have experienced hardly any breakage when sharpening the new set. Hopefully this means that they have addressed some of the quality control issues!

To see the pencil sharpeners I use read this post: Stamping Bella Card & My Favourite Pencil Sharpeners

If you’re looking to try Prismacolor pencils or need to pick up some replacements I’ve also noticed that Amazon currently have some really great deals on both here in the UK and in the US (as of 25/01/2017).

At the moment here in the UK the Prismacolor Premier 150pc set is under £100, which is a great deal.

Over in the US the Prismacolor Premier 150 pc set is currently $86.99 which is a fantastic price.
