This week for Marker Geek Monday over on the Stamping Bella blog I created a cute new baby card using a few stamps from some of Summer 2017 stamp sets. Read on to check out a little video showing how I stamped and coloured the scene, and to get all the product details!

Stamping Bella - Marker Geek Monday - Copic & White Gel Pen Detail on a Sweet Baby Card

I had the idea to create a sweet baby card using the recently released and utterly adorable Under the Sea Creatures stamp set along with the waves from the Tiny Townie Frances loves to Float stamp set and the “And so the adventure begins” sentiment from the Summer Sentiment stamp set. I put together a video to show you how I stamped and coloured my little scene, including how I added detail to the waves using a white gel pen. For a few tips on adding the white detail, pop on over to the Stamping Bella blog post.

Here’s the full card! I think that sentiment is just so sweet for a new baby card – a great way to get year round use from the set.

Other Products:

I stamped on to a die cut circle cut from Make it Colour Blending card (my favourite for Copic colouring) using the largest die from the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Circle Stackables die set (US link*). For stamping I used the MISTI stamp tool (US link*) and My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink in Black Licorice (US link*). Colouring was done with Copic Sketch Markers* (US link*) and detail added with a Sakura Gelly Roll Classic in White* (US link*). The designer paper on my card is from the My Favorite Things Hearts & Stripes 6×6 paper pack* (US link*). The die cut frame around the scene was cut from the DCWV Metallic cardstock stack* (US link*) using the largest die from the My Favorite Things Dienamics Stitched Circle Scallop Frames die set (US link*)

The MISTI tool isn’t a necessity, I use mine because I have it and find that it makes stamping easier – if I don’t get an even impression I can re-stamp in exactly the same place with no problem. If you don’t have one however, you can of course use an acrylic block.
