I couldn’t let MerMay whizz by without a mermaid or two here on my blog, and I do love a mermaid stamps so I’ve got a few cards to share before the month is out. Today I’m sharing a card featuring one of my favourite mermaid stamp sets!

Stamping Bella Tiny Townie Mermaid Card

I’m pretty much still an 8 year old girl at heart. Whack a mermaid or a unicorn on something, I’m sold. 😉 I particularly love the Tiny Townie Mermaid stamp set from Stamping Bella – she’s so pretty and a joy to colour. That big mermaid tail also allows for some great inky fun!

I’ve used her a few times now, so you will find some links to previous cards and my original colouring video for this image towards the end of this post, after the list of Copic marker I used on today’s version.

Stamps used: Tiny Townie Mermaid, Under the Sea sentiment set

I stamped the image using My Favorite Things Extreme Black hybrid ink on Make it Colour Blending Card before colouring with Copic Markers. I then stamped her again on a previously created Distress Oxide/shimmer spray piece to create the tail, using a grey Copic marker to add some shading. A combination of fussy cutting the tail and die cutting the base image, then layering and voilà – beautiful mermaid ready to grace a card!

I also stamped, coloured, and die cut the treasure chest and seaweed images from the set.

The backdrop is the beautiful Mama Elephant Making Waves Cover die, which I cut from a Distress Oxide inked background. I love the dies they have been coming out with – I’ve already put together three cards with this one, and I can see it getting a lot more use this summer!
