It’s pretty hard to believe a month has gone by already!  But it has, and now it is time for another hop with Mo’s Dream Team!

Mo's Digital Pencil Blog Hop!

This month I’m the hostess, and I asked everyone to come up with a card/project inspired by a fairytale.  Mo has a number of fairytale inspired images in her store – Digital Pencil Too.

I was originally planning on creating a card using Mo’s Cinderella and the Step Sisters images, but then I was browsing Mo’s store and suddenly had a brainwave.  Hah!

I’ve used Aashi in a Sari for my card.  Can you guess why?

Mo's Digital Pencil - Aashi in a Sari

Did you guess?  I was inspired by a book that is generally thought of as a “modern day fairytale”.  Frances Hodgson Burnett’s A Little Princess.  I’ve always loved the story, and have revisited the book and film many times over the years.  The main character – Sara Crewe – was born in India, and when she ends up at boarding school in London, captivates the other girls with her stories.  So, I was inspired to use Aashi, to represent Sara Crewe’s happier life in India.

The papers on my card are Basic Grey Marrakech.  All that gorgeous glitter was added using Viva Decor Glitter Liners in Gold and Ruby.

I used Copic Markers to colour Aashi:

Skin:  E35, E13, E11, E21, E00 Hair: C00, C1, C3, C5, C8, 100 Sari: B0000, B12, B14, B16 Elephant: C00, C1, C4, YR61, YR65, YR68
