Queen of Hearts in La-La Land

The project I’m sharing today is my final creation as a guest with La-La Land Crafts. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Irina and the rest of the LLLC team for letting me join them, and for their patience with me over the past few months.  I’ve had great fun playing with the products.

This week’s Inspiration Friday theme was a sketch, which I have loosely followed in creating another fun box with the book box chipboard kit.

Stamp: Queen of Hearts Marci
3D Kit: Book Trinket Box Kit

I altered some Graphic 45 paper with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals and Ranger Acrylic Paint Dabber, to achieve a more vibrant look than the papers originally had so that they would work better with Marci’s bold look.  Marci was of course, stamped on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with Copic markers.

Copics: Skin – E000, E00, E21, E04, R20, BV11 Hair: E13, E17, E19 Outfit: R24, R46, R59, BV02, BV04, BV08, Y35, YR23, Y28, W5, W7, W9

That’s all for now.  I’ll be back later with another fun post. In the meantime, make sure you pop on over to the LLLC Blog to check out the rest of the makes from the team today!

La-La Land Meets Wonderland for Inspiration Friday

Happy Friday! I’ve got another sweet La-La Land Crafts creation to share with you today.  This week’s Inspiration Friday theme is “All Stitched Up”.  Pop on over to the LLLC Blog to check out the rest of the makes from the team.

I kept the decoration of the book trinket box fairly simple, so it didn’t compete with bold little Marci in Wonderland. I covered the box and banner embellishment in gold paint, and the little frame Marci is peeking out of, I covered in Graphic45 paper. My faux stitching was added with a white gel pen, and I distressed the edges of the paper with a Ranger Acrylic Paint Dabber.

I stamped Marci on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with Copic markers.

La-La Land Crafts Release Showcase – So Sweet

I’m delighted to be joining in with another La-La Land Crafts release showcase as a guest this week.  The latest releases which Irina has been showing off at CHA are now available to order right now in the STORE!  Before I share my project, here’s a look at the whole release.

On to my project!
I used the adorable Heart Cupcake Marci together with the Sweetheart Shadow Box kit, which I painted with Paper Artsy Fresco paint and Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals before assembling. Inside the box I used some designer paper from my stash and one of the new dies – the Filigree Crown die made for some fun stylised grass, with a few gems added to suggest flower buds. ;)

An Uptown Teaser!

Alas, I don’t have a finished card or project to share today.  It has simply been one of those weeks, or more accurately, one of those months!  I would however like to show you something I’m working on.  A little teaser, if you will. ;-)

I think many of you are now familiar with my obsession with cropping the Stamping Bella Uptown Girls stamps in different ways (Uptown Girls are also available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).  This particular project was inspired by the wonderful Chris Dark aka Sketching Stamper and a creation of hers in a Magnolia Ink magazine, featuring little coloured ATCs in a tin.  My project is in no way going to be as gorgeous as Chris’, but hopefully it will reflect my love for the Uptown Girls range!

Cute, no?  I used the Tim Holtz ATC die, to cut the ATCs from Make it Colour Blending Card and then stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink before colouring with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

Hopefully I will figure out how I want to finish them off, colour a few more and decorate the tin very soon…watch this space. ;-)  In the meantime, I’ll be back tomorrow with my Bellariffic Friday card.

The Circus is in Town!

Some of you may remember me posting the coloured image on this project over on FaceBook a while ago, well, I FINALLY decided what to do with her!

I spent quite a while colouring the image, and as it is a favourite, it seemed fitting to create a little something for myself.  So, I found a cheap 8″x8″ black frame, removed the glass and used it to create this project.

The image is Saturated Canary – Circus Trixie, and she is now available in lovely rubber from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  All the Saturated Canary rubber stamps are in stock here in the UK over at Quixotic Paperie.

For the image I used my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (full details below).

One of my other great loves is Graphic 45 paper.  I love it so much that I rarely use it!  I end up saving most of the papers for special projects and altered items, which I usually don’t find the time to create.  It was fantastic to actually use some of it for a fun keepsake project.  The pads I used for this were Le Cirque and Olde Curiosity Shoppe for the butterflies.

The circus tickets are from a new favourite stamp/die set – MFT Die-Namics – Lisa Johnson Designs - Circus Spectacular.  You will be seeing more of that one here very soon!  I also used the MFT Die-Namics Fancy Flourish die.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you’ve enjoyed checking out my project.

Ferris Wheel Fun with Saturated Canary!

Today is a pretty exciting day – the new Saturated Canary rubber stamp release is now available to pre-order!  The stamps are all available on pre-order over at Quixotic Paperie in the Saturated Canary section, and are expected to arrive in stock around mid August.

To celebrate, I wanted to post a fun project.  I’ve been playing with the Make it Crafty Ferris Wheel kit, and managed to finish it at the weekend.  It looks so awesome all decorated, and I love the fact that it turns.  I can see this as a fun centre piece for a party, or a sweet decoration for a kid’s room, or well, a big kid’s room. ;-)  Most of all, it’s just so much fun to put together and so satisfying once finished.

I covered the wheel and main supports in paper, and used acrylic paint for the cars, to create a similar look to the paper I used.

To create the backdrop I used a piece of 12×12 cardstock in blue, and added MFT Die-Namics die cuts from Flat Bottom Clouds and Fresh Cut Grass to create the little scene.  I think it looks pretty cute!  Sadly the photo didn’t quite turn out as I hoped, but the lighting here was a bit patchy yesterday.

The sweet little character is Birthday Ellie, one of the Saturated Canary images now available to order in rubber stamp form! I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers before cutting her out to stand in front of my ferris wheel.

Hope you enjoyed checking this little project out as much as I enjoyed doing it!  Happy Monday…hope the week treats you well.
