Hopping with Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps – March 2013 Release!

I’m happy to be joining in with the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps blog hop this month as a guest.  Told you I wouldn’t be abandoning KKS completely. ;-)

When I saw the stamps being released this time, I fell in love, hard!  I have a thing for more traditional fairy/sprite images, and the Annie Rodrigue stamps being released today are perfect!  Love them.

The stamps are now available direct from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps in Canada,
and also from me in the UK at Quixotic Paperie!

Don’t forget to visit all the blogs on today’s hop (see the list by clicking on the blue frog at the end of my post), as Kimmie will be giving away some stamps!

So, of course, I chose to showcase one of the new sprites on today’s card.  This is ISADORA.

2013_03_17_kks_isadora

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

The paper is from my scrap box, I believe it was by Memory Box.  The gorgeous die cut branches are the Dies by SCACD – Breezy Branches Statement Corner die, which I am in love with – you could easily cut the diecuts up and use the branches behind flowers etc too! Lots of possibilities.

That’s it from me!  Click on the blue frog and go hopping!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge: You’re The Main Attraction!

Today brings a new Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge.  This week our hostess is the lovely Jessie and she has asked us to EMBELLISH IT!  She wants to see THREE embellishments on everyone’s cards/projects this week.

I tend to find challenges fairly tricksy.  I’m very much a “freestyle” girl, I don’t like working to a plan, so I tend to get all itchy and fidgety when working on challenge cards.  The strange thing, I usually end up really liking how they turn out!  This challenge was particularly tricky because (in case you hadn’t noticed) I don’t tend to use a lot of embellishments.  That’s actually quite funny, since I have an incredible stash of them. ;)

Anyway, here’s my card for the challenge, featuring RUBY THE RINGMISTRESS from the Circus Girls release (also available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).  It still ended up pretty clean and simple in style, as I used 1. a die cut sentiment (the sentiment stamp comes with Ruby) 2. a heart shaped button and 3. some small crystal gems around the image.

You’ll notice that I also played with my sewing machine again.  I had forgotten how much I love the finished look stitching can give, so you can expect to see more of this from me now I’ve rediscovered it. ;)

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. The designer paper is from an older Bo Bunny collection.  I’m doing pretty well at the moment, using up my vast hoard of scraps and papers.  There’s still a long way to go, but I’m not adding to it at the moment, so hopefully I’ll actually manage to downsize a bit!  The sentiment and mat were diecut using MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags STAX.

I hope you’re having a great weekend.  Make sure you stop by the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps challenge blog and join in – we love seeing your creations, and of course if you play along using a KKS stamp you could win the stamp featured on our hostess Jessie’s challenge card!

Teehee!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. I used a piece of designer paper from my overflowing scrap drawers, and also some SU Denim ribbon.  The image layer was diecut using the largest die from the Spellbinders Wavy Rectangles set.

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Release & Challenge: A Little Something Different From Me!

Have you been following along with the previews this week from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps?  Unfortunately I didn’t have time to join in for all of the preview days (much as I would have liked to), but the rest of the Krafty Girls have been showing off some awesome inspiration with all the new stamps!

Today we’re showcasing the latest Moonlight Whispers releases by Annie Rodrigue, and they are a LOT of FUN!  This month Annie has gone all NERDY, which of course totally speaks to me. ;)

Make sure you visit all the Krafty Girl blogs for today’s preview (see Inlinkz list at the bottom of this post) and leave a comment on each, as you could win some of the new stamps being released!

PLUS if you join in with the challenge this week using a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps image, you could win the stamp featured on this week’s hostess’ project.  The challenge this week is nice and easy – ANYTHING GOES!  Check out the challenge blog HERE.

One of my personal goals this year is to take more photos and to do more with those photos.  I also want to document things.  I’m not really one for scrapbooking in the embellished, flowery sense (although I have been known to oooh and aaah over other people’s work), so Project Life is ideal for me.  I won’t be doing a formal daily/weekly spread, I’ll be doing something more casual that fits me, which is what Project Life is all about.

The new stamp GAMER GIRL was ideal for one of my “About Me” spreads, which I am currently working on.  I am (and have always been) a gamer.  I play video games and I also play fantasy board games.

Isn’t she awesome?  LOVE.  She was pretty quick to colour too, as I kept things fairly simple.

I stamped the image and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  I embellished with MFT Die-Namics Photo Corners die cuts.

Here she is with the Project Life spread I’m working on:

I think I’m going to have a lot of fun embellishing my Project Life pages with coloured images this year!

FUN RELEASE NEWS: tonight we’re having the first ever Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps RELEASE PARTY!  It will take place on the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Facebook page and you’re all invited!  All the fun starts at 6pm EST, and you’ll get to hang out and chat with the Krafty Girls.  I’m hoping to stay awake long enough to join in (I’m feeling a little better today), so hopefully I will see you there.

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge – Feel the Music!

Time for another Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps challenge! This week I’m the hostess and I want to see cards/projects inspired in some way by MUSIC!  Use a music themed image, be inspired by a song/song title, whatever!

Join in with the challenge using a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps image and you could win the gorgeous AURELIA as seen on my card below!

As you can see, I very simply went with a musical image.  Aurelia was perfect for this, and guess what? Yep, another Christmas card crossed off the list.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Aurelia - www.quixoticcards.com

Aurelia can of course be found at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps, or for those of you in the UK/Europe, you can find her at Quixotic Paperie along with a whole host of other stamps!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  I also used Echo Park Paper, and decorated with MFT Die-Namics Photo Corners.

That’s it from me for now.   I’m off to put another jumper on – there’s a definite chill in the air here! We have a nice relaxing day planned: dog walking, colouring (for me) and perhaps a board game.  Lovely!
