SCACD Stamps Release Hop – Arctic Princess

Today sees the release of some incredible new stamps from two of the SCACD Stamps lines: Elisabeth Bell for SCACD and also the awesome Susana Loves Stamps collection.

I’m joining the SCACD Design Team today for a hop to showcase the new release.  Thanks for having me, girls!

You should have hopped over here from DANNI’S BLOG.  If not, pop on over there now, as she is the first stop on the hop, and I’m sure you won’t want to miss any of the crafty inspiration. ;)

I chose to show off one of the new Susana Loves Stamps images today, and I’m sure you can see why.  I fell in love with this particular stamp immediately.

Meet Arctic Princess from the Mythical Reflections release!

SCACD - Susana Loves Stamps - Artic Princess - www.quixoticcards.com/blog

Isn’t she beautiful? And that seahorse…oh my!  I had a lot of fun colouring her up.  The stamp is a really nice size for colouring, with lots of beautiful details.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The beautiful die cuts around the image are the Dies by SCACD Ornate Hinge die – Melanie Holtz also used them this way recently and I loved the effect.

I hope you’ve enjoyed stopping by and checking out my card.  Time to hop on though, and your next stop is the fantastic ALEX’S BLOG!

Happy hopping!

Getting Spooky with Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!

Happy Saturday!  We’ve got a nice quiet weekend planned, as it is Paul’s birthday tomorrow, so we’re going to hang out and relax.  Well, after I make his birthday card that is…I know, I’m very last minute!  When it comes to making cards for specific people, I can be incredibly indecisive.

Anyway!  This week’s challenge over at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is to create something SPOOKY.  Pretty simple, since the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps range includes some fantastic Halloween images (that are perfect for more than just Halloween, if you’re like me and enjoy creepy/spooky/kooky all year round).

Our hostess this week is the lovely Jenny, and if you join in using a Kraftin’ Kimmie stamp, you could win the stamp featured on her card today!  All you have to do is submit your entry over on the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps challenge blog (where you will find the other Krafty Girl Kreations and challenge guidelines/info).

On my card I have used one of my very favourite stamps in Annie Rodrigue’s Moonlight Whispers collection – BATTY PRINCESS (Batty Princess and a huge selection of other Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps designs are available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Batty Princess - www.quixoticcards.com

I also created a little tag to go with the card, which pulls out from behind the image layer.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Batty Princess - www.quixoticcards.com

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The designer paper is from Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor 6×6.  I added a little bow tied with the help of my Bow Easy template, embellished with two buttons nested together and some black twine.  The little banner sentiment I added is from the Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor 12×12 kit - I actually cut it from the packaging insert sheet and mounted it on card!  The image and mat were cut using Spellbinders Grand Circles nestabilities, and I simply cut the sides off!

I used the following MFT Die-Namics dies:

Spooktacular, no?  :)  I hope you’ve enjoyed checking out my card, and remember, we would love to see you joining in the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge!

Before I go, I’d also like to remind all my Canadian friends that the latest Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Krafty Day is only a week away!  If you would like to attend, and haven’t yet booked your place, hop on over to the website and do so!  There are some fantastic make and takes planned by some of the Krafty Girls who are attending, and having seen this year’s Krafty Day stamp and the awesome tote bags (plus extra goodies) attendees will receive, you do not want to miss out.

Have a great weekend, whatever you’re up to!

SCACD Stamps – Release Hop!

Today sees the release of a fantastic new collection of stamps designed by Carmen Medlin for SCACD Stamps.  The new stamps are utterly gorgeous, and perfect if you need something a little more elegant.

You should have hopped over here from Donalda’s Blog.  If you’re just joining us, there is a complete list of all hop participants at the SCACD Store Blog.

SCACD Stamps are available in the US at Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design or in the UK/Europe at Quixotic Paperie.

On my card I’ve used one of the new Yesteryear Collection stamps – The Beauty.  That dress was a lot of fun to colour!

SCACD Stamps - Carmen Medlin - available at www.quixoticpaperie.co.uk

Truly gorgeous isn’t she?

The image was coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin markers on Make it Colour Blending Card.  Designer paper is Memory Box.  The bow was tied using the Bow-Easy and I layered on Kraft cardstock.

The “Reflections Yesteryear”, “Reflections Fantasy” and “Just Because” stamps are all available at SCACD in the US and at Quixotic Paperie in the UK/Europe. You can purchase the stamps individually, but if you have fallen in love with all the stamps (like me!), you can instead purchase them as complete sets at discounted prices. When bought as sets, both the “Reflections Yesteryear” and “Reflections Fantasy” collections include a bonus accessory stamp.

Your next stop on the hop is Lori’s Blog.  Enjoy!

Today we are featuring some adorable SNOWPEEPS from Cheryl Alger.  She has designed a trio of sweet snowpeople and each one has a matching sentiment!  You can find a list of Krafty Girls and Guests that have creations to share with you over on the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Blog!  Be sure to hop around and check them all out, PLUS leave a comment at each and every stop because one lucky stamper will win the whole trio of new stamps!!!  How about that!?!

On my card I have used the super cute “Sending Winter Hugs”.  Love this image, and like most snowman images, I LOVE how quick it is to colour up.  Ideal at this time of year in the lead up to the holidays.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Sending Winter Hugs - available at www.quixoticpaperie.co.uk

The image was coloured with a combination of ShinHan Touch Twin and Copic Markers on Make it Colour Blending Card.  I coloured this one a few weeks ago so sorry, no colour info!  The yummy designer papers are My Mind’s Eye 12 Days of Christmas.  I cut the image out with my Nestabilities dies.  The bow was tied using the Bow-Easy template.

That’s it from me!  Join us again tomorrow when we’ll be sharing stamps from Emilie Goulet!!!  Lots of winter fun this month!!

Hope with Silver Fairy

You may have heard that some of Sylvia Zet’s “Wee Stamps” digital images have now been released in yummy rubber by Whimsy Stamps.  They are available in the UK, at Quixotic Paperie in the Whimsy Stamps section!

Today I have a card to share featuring one of the new stamps – Silver Fairy – she’s one of my favourites.

Hope You Can Cling To - Splitcoast Stampers

I actually created this card for a challenge on Splitcoast Stampers, being hosted by the lovely Bev Gerard.  The challenge is “Looking In On You!” and Bev has asked us to to create a “window” card as part of the Hope You Can Cling To event that is going on this month in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.  Here’s a link to the Looking In On You challenge thread – SCS: Hope You Can Cling To – Looking In On You – pop over and check it out!

Whimsy Stamps - Sylvia Zet - Silver Fairy - available at www.quixoticpaperie.co.uk

The yummy designer papers are Marianne Designs “In The Meadow”.  The chipboard is from the Make it Crafty Butterfly Leaves pack.  The “Hope” sentiment is from the Flourishes LLC “Fight Like a Girl” stamp set.  I also used the Whimsy Stamps Lavish Flourishes set to lightly ink the edges of the heart tag and image layer.  The card opens out to reveal a heart shaped layer for a message behind the main image.

All colouring was done with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers on Make it Colour Blending Card (see colour map below).
