Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Perfect Poison - www.quixoticcards.com

Spooky Favourite – Perfect Poison

Today’s card is also being posted over on the Quixotic Paperie store blog – Quixotic Inspirations, as part of the Spooktacular Halloween week.  Make sure you pop on over there if you haven’t already, to check out the inspiration from this week and to enter the giveaway in >this post<.  Tomorrow will be your last chance to enter the giveaway, and Delphine will be showing off another spooktacular make!

The challenge this week at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is to use your favourite Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps image.  Tough challenge, simply because narrowing it down was a mammoth task in itself (for me anyway).  I finally chose PERFECT POISON (also available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).  She’s so full of spooky mischief, and she is a lot of fun to colour.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Perfect Poison - www.quixoticcards.com

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

Designer papers are Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor 6×6.  The stunning corner diecut was cut using one of the new Dies by SCACD designs – Alice’s Clock Statement Corner.  I added a little bow tied with the help of my Bow Easy template, and accented with one of the MFT Die-Namics Halloween Charms diecuts.

Hope to see you joining in the challenge this week!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps – Krafty Klubhouse Preview – Do You Believe?

When Kimmie showed the team the images for the latest Krafty Klubhouse Kit, I think I actually squealed out loud, and now I can show you why!

The new Krafty Klubhouse Kit – Three Wishes – will be available to order at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps on Friday 31st August 2012.  And Kimmie has a special offer for you!  Order the set before September 9th and you can pick a free $8 stamp from any of the KKS lines!

So, on to my favourite stamp from the set!  Is this not the fattest, most awesome unicorn you have ever laid eyes on?  I love him!  The Krafty Girls have outdone themselves, and over the next few days will show you a variety of different ways to colour him.  As you can see, I went a little Goth. ;-)

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

The designer paper is from the delicious Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor 6×6 pad (also available in the 12×12 kit).  Those gorgeous corners were die cut using one of my favourite Dies by SCACD dies – Classic Corners.

Magnolia World Journal – Ice Dragon’s Holiday

Magnolia Scene Journal - www.quixoticcards.com

It has been a little while since I first posted my altered SMASH journal, a couple of months actually!  Life has this nasty habit of interfering with stamping plans.  Anyway, I finally got round to some “just for pleasure” stamping and colouring recently and it just so happens that I ended up masking and stamping a little Magnolia Stamps scene.

I have a thing for all things fantasy, especially dragons, so when Lilyrose the Dragon was released earlier this year, I was incapable of resisting.

Magnolia Scene Journal - Lilyrose Dragon - www.quixoticcards.com

I masked and stamped the little scene using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card (my absolute favourite for colouring with alcohol based markers) before colouring with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (full details below).

I coloured the dragon with my blue shades, then when finished, used the Colourless Blender pen to go over the colouring and remove spots, to give the impression of scales.  I really like the effect, it adds that little extra detail that I enjoy in a coloured image.

The wording on my page?  *grin*  When Paul saw this, he commented that Lilyrose looked like an ice dragon, so the idea of a cute little ice dragon taking a holiday somewhere warmer came to mind.  I went with that theme when choosing my paper (also by Magnolia).  The stickers are from an Echo Park 12×12 kit.  I embellished with Make it Crafty Lasercut Chipboard and the gorgeous Dies by SCACD – Garden Corners.

That’s all for now!  Hopefully the next little scene will pop up a little quicker. ;-)Magnolia Stamps - Lilyrose Dragon Scene - www.quixoticcards.com

Fairytale Hair

One of my favourite things to colour is hair; I love images with long flowing hair where I can really get lost in colouring.  So, when I saw the new digi release from Make it Crafty, I simply had to colour up the new (and challenging) image – “Maiden with Long Golden Hair“.

Make it Crafty - Maiden with Long Golden Hair - www.quixoticcards.com

I printed her out quite large, so this image isn’t going on a card, I’ll be keeping her in a colouring folder together with the info on how I coloured her.

Quite often, I enjoy colouring just for the sake of it, rather than colouring for a specific project or card.  I can highly recommend it – the process can be a lot more relaxing and free!

Here’s a little something from me, using a Make it Crafty rubber stamp that has literally just arrived in stock here at Quixotic Paperie

Meet Fifi, who comes in a set with her friends Cici and Toto.  These little sprites are super sweet, and make adorable cards on their own, or work beautifully with the other characters and backgrounds to build a scene!  You can check out my card featuring Cici HERE.

Because she’s so small, Fifi was a breeze to colour up and pop on a card.  Ideal, because this week I am working flat out with QP and several projects with deadlines fast approaching!  Eep!

I’ve got a card to share with you, featuring some of the fantastic new images!  Steampunk is TOTALLY up my street.  You won’t have seen much in that vein on my blog here to date, but if you took a look at my bookshelves and at the art I admire, it crops up fairly frequently.

As soon as I saw Christy’s fairies, and the Make it Crafty Steampunk Goggles, I knew the scene I wanted to create.

Tiddly Inks & Make it Crafty Steampunk Scene - www.quixoticcards.com

I’ve used two different Tiddly Inks Tanker Fairies, the Make it Crafty Steampunk Goggles and Make it Crafty Metallic Flowers (copied twice) to create this scene.

Coloured entirely with Copic Markers on Make it Colour Blending Cardstock.  The designer paper is, appropriately, Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante (which you can currently grab with 15% off!). The gorgeous embellishments are Make it Crafty Lasercut Chipboard covered in Twinkling H20s – Solar Gold.

I haven’t listed the Copic markers I used, as there were quite a few, but if you have any questions at all, just shout!  Happy to help if I can. :)

I’m already colouring up another scene using the new Steampunk images, just couldn’t resist!

For those of you who prefer your images in rubber, I do stock a selection of Make it Crafty images in rubber at Quixotic Paperie.  If you want to see some of the new Steampunk images make it to rubber, make sure you hassle Zoe at Make it Crafty and let her know. ;-)  I also have a selection of Tiddly Inks in rubber from Stamping Bella.
