A Little Tim Holtz Birdie Said: Flu Sucks!

Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Bird Crazy Card & Video - www.markergeek.com

Right now I feel rather like I went to sleep one day in mid-February and woke up again in March. I sort of wish that is what actually happened. In reality I went to bed with a slight cough one night a couple of weeks ago and woke up the next morning feeling like the life had been drained from my body. Hello Flu!

Read on for some flu related whinging plus a fun little card featuring a Tim Holtz bird stamp and Copic colouring. A short colouring video and Copic Marker Colour Palette are also included.

Time Flies!

I hope you’re all having a great week so far! Mine has been relatively quiet, and I feel like I’m starting to regroup.  I cleaned my marker collection while watching TV series on Netflix, those Copics certainly do get sticky!  I’ve also been doing some colouring.  Nothing too exciting, but I’m plodding along. 😉

Today I’ve got a really fun card to share with you.  I had absolutely no plan for this, which to be completely honest is often the case!

I coloured the adorable “Tick Tock” from the SCACD Susana Loves Stamps Oddly Sweet Curiosities range, and then he sat on my desk until I happened upon a stencil in one of my drawers!  At first I wasn’t entirely sure how I wanted to use the stencil.  I thought I was going to use inks, but then it occurred to me that I wanted a fairly bold look, so I decided to use the stencil to trace and then colour with markers.  It turned out better than I expected!

I stamped Tick Tock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (available in the UK from Jackson’s Art Supplies).  The background was traced with a light pencil on to a separate piece of the same cardstock and again coloured with my markers.  I then cut Tick Tock out with scissors and popped him up on foam pads.  The sentiment I used comes with Tick Tock!

Both the new Susana Loves Stamps collections are available in rubber, direct from Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design or for International customers from Quixotic Paperie in the UK!

It’s Kind of Fun To Do The Impossible

Hope you’re having a great weekend!  This post has been scheduled, as I am bound to be exhausted after spending Saturday helping family with a little overdue spring-cleaning/de-cluttering.

Anyway, today I’d like to share another fun Stamping Bella card with you.  This time it’s another of those hilarious Christine Grove images – TWIRL.

NOTE: The new release is also available in the UK over at my store Quixotic Paperie, and is in stock now! Both the new Uptown Girls AND the Christine Grove releases are available.

Love this image, and the sentiment which comes with it is perfect!

Enjoy The Little Things…

It has been a slightly odd week here.  Good news, so-so news, a lingering cold and a mopey dog.

In good news, my Dad is home from hospital now.  He will be receiving continuing treatment via nurse visits, but he is home and much more comfortable. In other good news, an ongoing issue which had been causing me a great deal of stress for some time has been resolved. I’m not sure my brain has quite registered all of this yet, I’m waiting for the relief to kick in.

So, it’s the end of the week, which can only mean one thing… BELLARIFFIC FRIDAY! 🙂 Make sure you pop on over to Bloggabella later today to see what everyone has been up to, including the sistahood!

Don’t forget that there are many ways to win some Bella $$$ – you can comment on the Bellariffic Friday blog post, join in with the next challenge and also upload all your Stamping Bella creations to the SCS Gallery using the keyword stampingbella .

I have created another card using one of the awesome Christine Grove for Stamping Bella stamps, because yeah, I am addicted.

This is TALLULAH in her TUTU, and she comes with the sentiment I used.  You could, of course, pair her up with all sorts of sentiments for different occasions.

As usual, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. I cut the image layer out using a Spellbinders Grand Oval die, and layered on Coredinations cardstock.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

Nope, it’s a SUPER PIG!  Yeah, I’m a riot, I know. 😉

Simply couldn’t resist posting this one today, not least because Mondays are the days on which I usually need to remind myself to be positive and aim high.  This new Christine Grove for Stamping Bella image is perfect for that.  I can see him on encouragement cards, birthday cards, even journal pages!

This is PARKER the SUPERPIGGY and he comes with the sentiment I have used on my card. 🙂

NOTE: The new release is also available on pre-order over at my store Quixotic Paperie, and is expected in stock later this month! Both the new Uptown Girls AND the Christine Grove releases are available.

As usual, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. I also used Coredinations cardstock and a Tim Holtz embossing folder for the background layers. 2013_06_07_stampingbella_parkerpig_markers

Chicks Rule – Queen For a Day!

I fully intended to have another post up yesterday, but between being under the weather and not resting enough I managed to wipe myself out completely.  So, here I am today instead!

I won’t waffle too much, but I would like to let you know that the awesome new Stamping Bella release is now available to order!  If you visit Bloggabella you can find a discount code for 10% off at Stamping Bella to celebrate the release.

The release is also available on pre-order over at my store Quixotic Paperie, and is expected in stock later this month! Both the new Uptown Girls AND the Christine Grove releases are available.

On to my card!  I’ve used another of the new Christine Grove images – Chicks Rule.  This image does come with the sentiment “Chicks Rule”, but I chose to create my own wording using stickers (I’m still on a mission to get my sticker stash used up).  The sentiments Emily paired the images up with are brilliant, but there are so many possibilities for these images, don’t be afraid to put them together with something else.  That way they can be used for so many different occasions!

2013_06_07_stampingbella_chicksrule

As usual, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The stickers I used are from an old Echo Park 12×12 kit.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you’re enjoying the new release as much as I am.

I Need To See You Badly!

If you’ve been following Bloggabella this week, or if you saw my previous blog post here, you will be aware that we are sharing previews of the imminent new release at Stamping Bella.

Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who has commented here/on Facebook with good wishes, and those that have been in touch via email. You’re all lovely! My Dad is still in hospital, and we’ve been told he will be there for another couple of weeks, but he is doing much better.  Fingers crossed that will continue.

I’m feeling a little under the weather myself, but am remaining hopeful that will be short-lived!  I have far too much to do to be ill… 😉

Now, on to my card for today!  It is of course, Bellariffic Friday, and that means the Babes all have some Stamping Bella fun to share.  Make sure you pop on over to Bloggabella to see what everyone has been up to, including the sistahood!

Don’t forget that there are many ways to win some Bella $$$ – you can comment on the Bellariffic Friday blog post, join in with the next challenge and also upload all your Stamping Bella creations to the SCS Gallery using the keyword stampingbella .

My card features one of the adorable and amusing new stamps.  Emily has now revealed the artist behind the new line – Christine Grove.  You can read all about her in this post over on Bloggabella.

Love her! With the accompanying sentiment she is perfect for a card to send to a friend you haven’t seen for a while, or you could come up with quite a few other sentiments to go with her and cover numerous occasions, I’m sure!

As usual, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  I cut the image layer out using a Spellbinders Grand Labels die. The background layer was created using Core-dinations cardstock and an embossing folder.

That’s it from me today!  Hope you’re enjoying the new release previews.  I’ll be back with another post tomorrow.

Do the Monster Hop!

Today I’m joining in with a fun hop for the latest Susana Loves Stamps release from SCACD Stamps.  And when I say fun, I mean FUN!  The new release is a continuation of the “Oddly Sweet Curiosities” series, and as with the first two sets, the stamps being released today will definitely make you GRIN!

I’m your first stop on the hop today, so if you’re just joining us then you’re in the right place!  For a full list of the hop participants, pop on over to the SCACD Store Blog for full info.

I used two of my favourites for today’s post, and I love them so much that I created a couple of tags for my personal collection.  Loved colouring these!

Meet “Me & My L’il Buddy” and “Miracles Happen”.  Notice anything funny about them? 😉

2013_02_08_scacd_dinos

Haha!  They crack me up.  Also, you may not be aware of the fact that I have a “thing” about dinosaurs.  Love dinosaur images.  I’m not sure why.  I was, as most children are, fascinated by dinosaurs as a child, and I simply don’t think I ever grew out of it.

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The designer paper is from an MME 12×12 pad – “Stomp” which I have been hoarding along with other dino themed papers.

Make sure you check out the rest of the hop, there are some very curious little characters on show today, you don’t want to miss them, they’re sure to bring a smile!

The next stop on the hop is the lovely DIANNE’S BLOG and I happen to know she’s showing off two more of my favourites!

The stamps are now available to order from Susana’s Custom Art and Card Design for US customers,

and from Quixotic Paperie for international customers!
