This month Kristy, the artist and owner of Some Odd Girl stamps is having a celebration. In honour of her 31st birthday, this month there are 31 days of tutorials, how tos and giveaways. There’s lots going on, and you can join in now over on Kristy’s “The Odd Girl” blog. Today is the 10th day, so make sure that you scroll back through and check out the previous posts in this event!
I’m thrilled to be helping celebrate again this year. Last year I posted some colouring videos, which you can check out >HERE<. This year I’ve created a little step by step on colouring a festive night sky.
Some of you may remember me posting the coloured image on this project over on FaceBook a while ago, well, I FINALLY decided what to do with her!
I spent quite a while colouring the image, and as it is a favourite, it seemed fitting to create a little something for myself. So, I found a cheap 8″x8″ black frame, removed the glass and used it to create this project.
One of my other great loves is Graphic 45 paper. I love it so much that I rarely use it! I end up saving most of the papers for special projects and altered items, which I usually don’t find the time to create. It was fantastic to actually use some of it for a fun keepsake project. The pads I used for this were Le Cirque and Olde Curiosity Shoppe for the butterflies.
The circus tickets are from a new favourite stamp/die set – MFT Die-Namics – Lisa Johnson Designs – Circus Spectacular. You will be seeing more of that one here very soon! I also used the MFT Die-Namics Fancy Flourish die.
Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you’ve enjoyed checking out my project.
All too often, with the constant new releases, gorgeous older stamps and images get forgotten. I often look back over my photo folders at cards made over the past few years, and it occured to me that it might be nice to share the experience. So, I’ll be scheduling a post each week looking back at previous creations which I feel deserve another turn to shine!
This stamp – The Travelers – captured my heart immediately. I have a soft spot for all things wolf-related, and romantic gypsy images. I also love how this card turned out with the beautiful Graphic 45 Le Cirque papers.
I coloured the image with Distress Inks, which was quite a labour of love considering I far prefer markers. Even so, I was pretty happy with the results. I do have this image on my list to revisit using markers, when I do it will be interesting to compare!
Thank you for all your comments on yesterday’s fat-tastic unicorn card! I definitely had a lot of fun colouring him. Today the Krafty Girls are showing off more creations with the new kit, in a Krafty Hop.
The new Three Wishes Krafty Klubhouse Kit is now available to buy direct from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps, and Kimmie has a special offer for you! Order the set before September 9th and you can pick a free $8 stamp from any of the KKS lines!

I love the image I used today almost as much as the chunky unicorn I posted yesterday, which is to say that I love it rather a lot indeed. Colouring the Fortune Teller was a lot of fun, and I played with some colours I don’t use that often – purples and dark greens.
You can see the full hop list over on the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps blog if you are just joining us or if you are lost! If you are already on the hop you should have hopped over here from ALICE’S BLOG.
As you know if you read yesterday’s post, I love the Wizard of Oz, so choosing the stamps to use for today’s card was a no-brainer! I have used two of Annie Rodrigue’s new stamps – Scarecrow and Tin-Man. This would be a fun friendship card or maybe a “just because” or birthday card for a Wizard of Oz fan.
