La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Friday – Mask or Merge!

I’m having some fun guest designing for La-La Land Crafts at the moment, so today I have another card to share for Inspiration Friday.  The theme this week is “Mask/Merge”, so make sure you drop by the La-La Land Crafts Blog to see more fun makes from the other girls!

My card features the adorable Darling Dragon Luka together with Bat Girl Marci, both from the recent Halloween release.  The sentiment comes with Luka.

2013_10_11_lllc_bootoyoumerge

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with a combination of Copics and ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (available in the UK from Jackson’s Art Supplies).

I framed my little scene using one of the frames from the Halloween Shapes & Frames kit, which I painted with Luminarte Silks in Boysenberry.  I also painted the border of my card front with this to match. I mounted the framed image on a piece of Coredinations cardstock, altered using a die-cut from the Spiderweb Corner Die, which I used as a mask with some white pigment ink.

La La Land Crafts Halloween Showcase: Cauldron Witch Marci

Phew.  I fully intended to be back and blogging before now, but time has not been on my side!  I have been working away on lots of colouring, but card-making and blogging proved to be too much of a stretch.  Lots of boring “real life” stuff being sorted out at the moment, on top of the day to day things, so something just has to give.  Plus, I’ve been working on redesigning the blog as you can probably see, and haven’t quite finished that yet either.

Anyway, I can share something a little fun today! I’m thrilled to join the La-La Land Crafts team today as a guest to help show off the new Halloween release (if you’re a regular here, you may know that I am a sucker for Halloween).  So, enough waffling from me, here are all the details and my project!

In this new release we have FOUR new stamps, THREE new dies and ONE new Frames & Shapes Kit.
The new stamps include:
For the DIES we have:
Last, but not least, we have an awesome Halloween Frames & Shapes Kit!

All of these NEW products are now available in the online store!  Click HERE to go SHOPPING!
Now for my project!  I used the adorable CAULDRON WITCH MARCI along with the HALLOWEEN FRAMES & SHAPES KIT and the PUMPKINS and SPIDER WEB CORNER dies.
2013_09_15_lllc_marcicauldron
I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (available in the UK from Jackson’s Art Supplies).  I created the background using Tim Holtz Distress Inks on pearlescent card, which I sprinkled with water.  The pumpkins were cut from the MiC card using the Pumpkins die and then coloured with markers.  The chipboard frame was painted using Luminarte Silks in “Boysenberry”, the bat details were then painted using Gel Medium mixed with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals in Screamin’ Banshee Black, to give the slightly textured leathery look along with some shimmer.

Getting Spooky with Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!

Happy Saturday!  We’ve got a nice quiet weekend planned, as it is Paul’s birthday tomorrow, so we’re going to hang out and relax.  Well, after I make his birthday card that is…I know, I’m very last minute!  When it comes to making cards for specific people, I can be incredibly indecisive.

Anyway!  This week’s challenge over at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is to create something SPOOKY.  Pretty simple, since the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps range includes some fantastic Halloween images (that are perfect for more than just Halloween, if you’re like me and enjoy creepy/spooky/kooky all year round).

Our hostess this week is the lovely Jenny, and if you join in using a Kraftin’ Kimmie stamp, you could win the stamp featured on her card today!  All you have to do is submit your entry over on the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps challenge blog (where you will find the other Krafty Girl Kreations and challenge guidelines/info).

On my card I have used one of my very favourite stamps in Annie Rodrigue’s Moonlight Whispers collection – BATTY PRINCESS (Batty Princess and a huge selection of other Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps designs are available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Batty Princess - www.quixoticcards.com

I also created a little tag to go with the card, which pulls out from behind the image layer.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Batty Princess - www.quixoticcards.com

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The designer paper is from Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor 6×6.  I added a little bow tied with the help of my Bow Easy template, embellished with two buttons nested together and some black twine.  The little banner sentiment I added is from the Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor 12×12 kit - I actually cut it from the packaging insert sheet and mounted it on card!  The image and mat were cut using Spellbinders Grand Circles nestabilities, and I simply cut the sides off!

I used the following MFT Die-Namics dies:

Spooktacular, no?  :)  I hope you’ve enjoyed checking out my card, and remember, we would love to see you joining in the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge!

Before I go, I’d also like to remind all my Canadian friends that the latest Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Krafty Day is only a week away!  If you would like to attend, and haven’t yet booked your place, hop on over to the website and do so!  There are some fantastic make and takes planned by some of the Krafty Girls who are attending, and having seen this year’s Krafty Day stamp and the awesome tote bags (plus extra goodies) attendees will receive, you do not want to miss out.

Have a great weekend, whatever you’re up to!

Bellariffic Friday – Halloween Colours/Theme

For my Touch Twin Markers & More Challenge post please click >HERE< or scroll down!

I’m back as promised, with my Bellariffic Friday post.  This week we were asked to use a Halloween themed image or Halloween colours.  So, here is my Uptown Girl – Claudia has Candy coloured up all Halloweeny (Claudia and the other Uptown Girls are also available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie)!

Stamping Bella - Uptown Claudia - www.quixoticcards.com

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The designer paper is from an older Basic Grey pad, “Eerie” I think.  The swirls/flourishes are an old favourite EK Success punch.

NEXT WEEK’S CHALLENGE: we have a lovely sketch for you to follow – see below! Email your entries to Emily at Stamping Bella by Thursday 18th October to be in with a chance of winning some Bella Bucks.

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge – Skulls!

The Krafty Girls are getting a little spooky today with the latest Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps challenge – use a skull in some way on your project!  So either an image featuring skulls somewhere, skull design paper, embellishments etc.

Join in using a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps image and you could be in with a chance of winning the stamp featured on our lovely hostess Cheryl’s card!

PLUS make sure you check out the fun events over at the challenge blog this weekend in honour of World Cardmaking Day!

Here’s my spooktastic card.  I was feeling a little coloured out, and needed a change, so I pulled out the HALLOWEEN TRINKETS stamp set (also available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie) and some dies.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Halloween Trinkets - www.quixoticcards.com

I stamped the trinket sentiment with black ink on white card and diecut it using a Spellbinders circle die.  I placed it on top of a paper rosette made from Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor paper using the Memory Box Blooming Rosette die (any rosette die would work, like the MFT Die-Namics ones).  I’m a little bit late to the rosette party, but I may be developing an addiction to making them…

Behind my rosette are some gorgeous diecuts – my favourite Dies by SCACD – Alice’s Clock Statement Corner and MFT Die-Namics Fancy Flourish.  I tied the bow using my Bow-Easy, and finally I added my skull to the top of the bow.

The skull features on one of the Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor 12×12 kit sticker sheets, as part of a larger design.  I didn’t really want to cut the sticker up, so I actually cut it out from the packaging insert sheet and backed with cardstock to make it more durable.

That’s it!  Hope you’ll join us for this week’s challenge.  Have a fantastic weekend!

NOTE:

Those of you in Canada or nearby, have you booked your places at the upcoming Krafty Day yet?  If not (and why not?!) get on over to the KKS website and book!  Kimmie and the Krafty Girls who are able to attend have got some serious fun planned.

Spooky Favourite – Perfect Poison

Today’s card is also being posted over on the Quixotic Paperie store blog – Quixotic Inspirations, as part of the Spooktacular Halloween week.  Make sure you pop on over there if you haven’t already, to check out the inspiration from this week and to enter the giveaway in >this post<.  Tomorrow will be your last chance to enter the giveaway, and Delphine will be showing off another spooktacular make!

The challenge this week at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is to use your favourite Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps image.  Tough challenge, simply because narrowing it down was a mammoth task in itself (for me anyway).  I finally chose PERFECT POISON (also available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).  She’s so full of spooky mischief, and she is a lot of fun to colour.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Perfect Poison - www.quixoticcards.com

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

Designer papers are Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor 6×6.  The stunning corner diecut was cut using one of the new Dies by SCACD designs – Alice’s Clock Statement Corner.  I added a little bow tied with the help of my Bow Easy template, and accented with one of the MFT Die-Namics Halloween Charms diecuts.

Hope to see you joining in the challenge this week!

Something Wicked for TTC26

Well, I’m feeling a little less achy than yesterday, thanks to a restful afternoon.  With one thing and another I’m still a little stressed and worn out, so I’m trying to take it easy and relax.  Yesterday afternoon the dog and I retired to bed.  She snored, I coloured.

Anyway, I’m here to share a card created for the current Touch Twin Markers & More Challenge.  The challenge is a colour inspiration, which you can check out by visiting >this post< on the challenge blog, where you can also submit your entries.

The challenge will run from September 24th – October 6th with a winner being announced on October 7th.

Here’s my card!
Mo's Digital Pencil - Come Hither - www.quixoticcards.com/blog

Love this image.  He is “Come Hither” by Mo Manning and is one of Mo’s “Heartless” collection of digital images.  I love all of Mo’s artwork, but since I am a little dark and twisty at heart, these images definitely speak to me.

I printed the image on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (details below).

Designer papers are Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor 6×6, and I also used a sticker from the 12×12 kit, along with stickers from the Carta Bella All Hallow’s Eve 12×12 kit to create the wording on the strips cut using a MFT Die-Namics Sentiment Strips die.  The stunning corner diecut was cut using one of the new Dies by SCACD designs – Fancy Flower & Key Corners – so that the beautifully detailed design stands out (against the busy designer paper it looked a little lost), I cut a layer of purple cardstock to layer behind the diecut.  I accented the other corners with some little gems.

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll be back again over the weekend with some more creations!

Flying By with another Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Cutie!

Just a quick post today featuring one of the adorable Halloween Lulu stamps from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps.

I used the little witchy Lulu from the HALLOWEEN LULU set (also available in Canada from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps).

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Halloween Lulu set - available in the UK at www.quixoticpaperie.co.uk

The important thing to remember: witches aren’t just for Halloween!  There’s nothing Halloween specific about this image, so she would also be perfect for “Have a Bewitching Birthday” cards etc.  I LOVE Halloween, but it’s always nice to think of ways you can use the images year round.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

The designer papers are from an older My Mind’s Eye Halloween collection kit.  I used MFT Die-Namics Photo Corners and Solid Bracket Border to accent.
