Be 100% You!

Today I’d like to share a card I created last week, at the same time as the card in my Happy with SCACD Digital post. I love how these cards turned out, so bright, bold and cheerful.

As with my previous card, the focal image is a digital stamp from the Carmen Medlin for SCACD Digital range. “Hoverfly” is another fun image for going all out with bright colours, or you could go grungey and creepy. Either way – FUN!

SCACD Digital - Hoverfly - www.markergeek.com

Hoverfly was coloured with Copic Markers on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card then cut out ready to pop on my card front using foam pads. The card is approximately A5 (14.8 x 21 cm or approx 6 x 8 inches).

The background was created using Ranger Texture Paste coloured with Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals through a Prima Marketing Inc stencil over the top of a bright Distress Ink background.

The sentiment was created using a combination of My Favourite Things alphabet die cuts and a stamp from one of their clear stamp sets.

Thank you for dropping in! I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit today. :)

“Mum” Pop Up Box Card

A very quick post today, just to share the pop-up box card I created for Paul’s Mum last week. I do love making these, they are so effective and surprisingly easy to do (but a pain to photograph)! To see a previous pop-up box card, take a look at my Wild, Free, Happy post from January.

Bellariffic Friday & A New Release!

* For my The Greeting Farm blog hop post, scroll down or click HERE *

Happy Friday!  Got to say, I think I blinked and missed the week.  I’m pretty sure I woke up yesterday and it was Monday… ;-)  Not going to complain too much though, Friday is one of my favourite days.

Today is a particularly good Friday, as it brings both the usual Bellariffic Friday challenge AND the new stamp release at Stamping Bella!  Yep, that’s right, the new stamps will all be available at Stamping Bella today (and all orders over $55 will receive a free Ketto stamp goodie bag worth $30!).

So, for my Bellariffic Friday card, I used one of the GORGEOUS new Uptown Girls images – SUNNY.  When I saw the new Uptownies, I almost fell off my chair.  Seriously.  LOVE.  Between them and the new Diane Duda stamps, I am in colouring heaven. Plus of course, the two chubbalicious Mo Manning images being released today.

Anyway, here is Sunny! Is she not faaaaaaabulous, darlings? Haha!

2013_03_01_sb_uptown_sunny

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The paper I used is a lightly patterned kraft paper that I have had in my stash for ages, I believe it was from Stampin’ Up.  I used MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flag STAX dies to cut the little banner (I chopped them down to make the short banner, and punched holes using my Crop-o-dile), which I embellished with gems.  I distressed the edges of the papers with a chalk ink, just to soften the edges.  The sentiment layer and mat were cut using Spellbinders labels dies.

And yes, for all you UK girls desperate to get your hands on the new release – they will all be coming to Quixotic Paperie!  Keep an eye out for their arrival in the next few weeks. ;-)

SPLITCOAST STAMPERS FORUM FUN: The new Bellatastic Tuesday challenge has now been posted over on our Splitcoast Stampers forum.  Join in with the theme “Make it Pretty” –  quite simply, create something pretty (using a Stamping Bella stamp), and you could win $20 in Bella Bucks!  Pop on over HERE to the thread to read all about how to enter. Do the Monster Hop!

Today I’m joining in with a fun hop for the latest Susana Loves Stamps release from SCACD Stamps.  And when I say fun, I mean FUN!  The new release is a continuation of the “Oddly Sweet Curiosities” series, and as with the first two sets, the stamps being released today will definitely make you GRIN!

I’m your first stop on the hop today, so if you’re just joining us then you’re in the right place!  For a full list of the hop participants, pop on over to the SCACD Store Blog for full info.

I used two of my favourites for today’s post, and I love them so much that I created a couple of tags for my personal collection.  Loved colouring these!

Meet “Me & My L’il Buddy” and “Miracles Happen”.  Notice anything funny about them? ;)

2013_02_08_scacd_dinos

Haha!  They crack me up.  Also, you may not be aware of the fact that I have a “thing” about dinosaurs.  Love dinosaur images.  I’m not sure why.  I was, as most children are, fascinated by dinosaurs as a child, and I simply don’t think I ever grew out of it.

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The designer paper is from an MME 12×12 pad – “Stomp” which I have been hoarding along with other dino themed papers.

Make sure you check out the rest of the hop, there are some very curious little characters on show today, you don’t want to miss them, they’re sure to bring a smile!

The next stop on the hop is the lovely DIANNE’S BLOG and I happen to know she’s showing off two more of my favourites!

The stamps are now available to order from Susana’s Custom Art and Card Design for US customers,

and from Quixotic Paperie for international customers!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge: You’re The Main Attraction!

Today brings a new Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge.  This week our hostess is the lovely Jessie and she has asked us to EMBELLISH IT!  She wants to see THREE embellishments on everyone’s cards/projects this week.

I tend to find challenges fairly tricksy.  I’m very much a “freestyle” girl, I don’t like working to a plan, so I tend to get all itchy and fidgety when working on challenge cards.  The strange thing, I usually end up really liking how they turn out!  This challenge was particularly tricky because (in case you hadn’t noticed) I don’t tend to use a lot of embellishments.  That’s actually quite funny, since I have an incredible stash of them. ;)

Anyway, here’s my card for the challenge, featuring RUBY THE RINGMISTRESS from the Circus Girls release (also available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie).  It still ended up pretty clean and simple in style, as I used 1. a die cut sentiment (the sentiment stamp comes with Ruby) 2. a heart shaped button and 3. some small crystal gems around the image.

2013_01_19_kks_rubyringmistress

You’ll notice that I also played with my sewing machine again.  I had forgotten how much I love the finished look stitching can give, so you can expect to see more of this from me now I’ve rediscovered it. ;)

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. The designer paper is from an older Bo Bunny collection.  I’m doing pretty well at the moment, using up my vast hoard of scraps and papers.  There’s still a long way to go, but I’m not adding to it at the moment, so hopefully I’ll actually manage to downsize a bit!  The sentiment and mat were diecut using MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags STAX.

I hope you’re having a great weekend.  Make sure you stop by the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps challenge blog and join in – we love seeing your creations, and of course if you play along using a KKS stamp you could win the stamp featured on our hostess Jessie’s challenge card!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Release & Challenge: A Little Something Different From Me!

Have you been following along with the previews this week from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps?  Unfortunately I didn’t have time to join in for all of the preview days (much as I would have liked to), but the rest of the Krafty Girls have been showing off some awesome inspiration with all the new stamps!

Today we’re showcasing the latest Moonlight Whispers releases by Annie Rodrigue, and they are a LOT of FUN!  This month Annie has gone all NERDY, which of course totally speaks to me. ;)

Make sure you visit all the Krafty Girl blogs for today’s preview (see Inlinkz list at the bottom of this post) and leave a comment on each, as you could win some of the new stamps being released!

PLUS if you join in with the challenge this week using a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps image, you could win the stamp featured on this week’s hostess’ project.  The challenge this week is nice and easy – ANYTHING GOES!  Check out the challenge blog HERE.

One of my personal goals this year is to take more photos and to do more with those photos.  I also want to document things.  I’m not really one for scrapbooking in the embellished, flowery sense (although I have been known to oooh and aaah over other people’s work), so Project Life is ideal for me.  I won’t be doing a formal daily/weekly spread, I’ll be doing something more casual that fits me, which is what Project Life is all about.

The new stamp GAMER GIRL was ideal for one of my “About Me” spreads, which I am currently working on.  I am (and have always been) a gamer.  I play video games and I also play fantasy board games.

Isn’t she awesome?  LOVE.  She was pretty quick to colour too, as I kept things fairly simple.

I stamped the image and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  I embellished with MFT Die-Namics Photo Corners die cuts.

Here she is with the Project Life spread I’m working on:

I think I’m going to have a lot of fun embellishing my Project Life pages with coloured images this year!

FUN RELEASE NEWS: tonight we’re having the first ever Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps RELEASE PARTY!  It will take place on the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Facebook page and you’re all invited!  All the fun starts at 6pm EST, and you’ll get to hang out and chat with the Krafty Girls.  I’m hoping to stay awake long enough to join in (I’m feeling a little better today), so hopefully I will see you there.

Uptown Couple Emily & Ryan

The card I’m sharing today should have been finished and blogged yesterday.  Yesterday had other plans, like a surprise trip to the dentist.  YAY!  I now have antibiotics for a low grade infection.  We also had another appointment with the vet, just a checkup to make sure she was ok after the nightmare weekend.  The good news is that she is absolutely fine! Phew.  Hopefully in five days or so I will also be fine, and we can get back on track.

Anyway, today I managed to finish colouring and create a card using another of the new Stamping Bella Uptown Girls stamps.  This one is my absolute favourite – Uptown Couple Emily & Ryan Under The Umbrella.  SO SWEET.

Stamping Bella Uptown Girls are available in the UK at Quixotic Paperie, and the latest release will be joining the range soon!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (details below). The designer paper is from an old Crate Paper kit which I have been hoarding for years. I embellished with MFT Die-Namics Photo Corners and Button Quartet die cuts.

I kept the card simple to show off the beautiful image, and I also used the coordinating sentiment that goes with her.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  No designer paper!  I used the MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX dies for the sentiment.

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps – December Release – A Monster Peek!

It has been a pretty tiring week, and I still have a million and one things to get done.  I’m guessing the same goes for most of you too, at this time of year!  Head cold, deadlines, work, paperwork, Christmas preparations.  I’m surviving on tea and Buffy DVDs.

Anyway!  Enough moaning from me, it’s time to share a peek at the new Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps release.  Today the Krafty Girls are sharing previews of Emilie Goulet’s new PARTY MONSTERS stamp set!  Check the end of this post to see who else has a peek to share today.  Don’t forget to leave a comment at each blog post to be in with a chance of winning this set!
