Tag Archives: Susana Loves Stamps

The card I’m sharing today was created for a wonderful friend, and I have to say, I’m pretty thrilled with how it turned out!

I used one of the stamps from one of my favourite stamp lines this year – the Mechanimals from Susana Loves Stamps at SCACD.  This one is Radiant Moth (also available in the US direct from SCACD). 2013_10_10_scacd_lunarmoth_shine

I stamped the image on Make it Colour Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (available in the UK from Jackson’s Art Supplies).

The background was created using a combination of Dylusions Ink Spray (I think…it was a while ago!) and Glimmer Mist, and it has the most gorgeous shimmer. I added some thick stick on letters to create the word “shine”, and gave these a little shimmer using Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals.2013_10_10_scacd_lunarmoth_shine_a

Just love it.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, whatever you’re up to!

SCACD Release Hop Fun!

Today Susana Loves  Stamps are releasing  more of their unique, fresh and edgy rubber stamps.  The response to the first set of MechAnimals stamps was fantastic, so today we have a new set of MechAnimals along with some fabulous new Far East and floral inspired rubber stamps.

If you’re in the US you can find the new rubber stamps over at Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design.  International customers can find them at my store Quixotic Paperie.

SCACD Digital  is  also releasing today a fun little gaggle of digital ghoulies that scream fun and  sweetness.  You can  check them out HERE!

We’ve got a fun hop today to celebrate the new release and show off some inspiration to get you all fired up. 😉  If you’ve only just joined us, you can pop back to the SCACD Store Blog to get all the details and start the hop, the full hop list will be in the post over there.

You should have hopped over here from my lovely friend MELANIE’S BLOG.

Today I’m showing off one of my favourite stamps from the new release.  When Susana told me that there would be skulls in this release, I was delighted.  1. I love images of skulls 2. I’ve never actually coloured a large skull image before.  So, I had a lot of fun playing!

The stamp I used on my project today is “Sugar Zen Skull”, which is available singly or in a set with the other awesome skull “Sugar Floral Skull”.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (available in the UK from Jackson’s Art Supplies).  I then cut it out and mounted on black card trimmed to leave a narrow border around the edge.

The background was created using a piece of 6″x6″ chipboard, which I covered with gesso, and then applied Embossing Paste through a Prima Stencil.  I then covered it in Dylusions Spray in a gorgeous turquoise, and applied Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals to the embossing paste design.  I also sponged the chipboard with Distress Ink to make the turquoise a little less bright.  I then added a Tim Holtz word stick thingy (haha), which I attached using some braided sparkly embroidery floss, and mounted the whole thing on a piece of black board.  To the corners I added some Make it Crafty chipboard corners, painted with more Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals.

That’s it from me!  Hope you enjoyed checking out my project, and that you will continue through the hop and enjoy the rest of the inspiration on offer today!

Your next stop on the hop is the lovely DIANNE’S BLOG.  Enjoy!

PS Don’t forget to check out the new SCACD Digital releases, there is some superb spooky fun to be had!

Release Day Fun with SCACD Stamps!

Time for a fun hop for the latest release from SCACD!  PLUS some extra fun news which you will find at the end of my post. 😉

Today Susana Loves  Stamps releases yet another round  of these FUN little pranksters the Oddly Sweet  Curiosities #5! With their universal appeal  the Curiosities were just begging for another turn in the spotlight with a new  release. These little guys are the perfect way to provoke a smile or a laugh.  We’re addicted, and from the  popularity of the previous sets we know you will be too!

Susana Loves  Stamps is also showcasing a  fresh new  line: The MechAnimals. This edgy  but endearing range of SteamPunk animals will lend themselves to  all sorts of projects, occasions and  styles and earn a place in your crafty hearts.

Grab a cup of something yummy and enjoy the show!

Both collections are available in rubber, direct from Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design or for International customers from Quixotic Paperie in the UK!

You should have hopped over here from KIM DELLOW’S BLOG.  If not, you can start the hop over on Melanie’s Blog, you won’t want to miss anything today!

My card today features one of the AWESOME Mechanimals stamps.  I am seriously in love with this collection.  I spend so much time colouring “people” stamps and cute images that these were like a much needed breath of fresh air.  You could say they gave me a bit of a creative jumpstart.

Meet INK SPLATS.  How cool?!  He comes with the fun sentiment shown on my card.  This is my favourite card that I’ve created so far this year and I had a blast doing it!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers (available in the UK from Jackson’s Art Supplies).  I also used one lonely Copic marker on this card!  BG57 for the underwater background.

The designer paper is actually from the Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe 8×8 pad, I sprayed it with Dylusions Ink Spray in Crushed Grape to recolour it for my card.  I also used a Ranger Acrylic Paint Dabber in Gold around all the edges.  I created the cool splats by drawing them with a Montana Acrylic Paint Marker in Shock Lilac (available in the UK from Jackson’s Art Supplies).

I stamped the sentiment on the same cardstock as my image, and die cut it using one of the MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags STAX dies.  I then coloured it using one of my Touch Twin Markers, and added some extra detail using the Montana paint marker and my acrylic paint dabber.

Some serious inky painty fun! 🙂

That’s it from me!  Your next stop on this fun hop is DIANNE’S BLOG .  Check out the additional news below and then hop on over there to see what Dianne has been up to!

Deep Ocean Challenge Guest – Happiness Shared…

Today I have the pleasure of joining the Deep Ocean Challenge as a guest!  If you’re not familiar with them, the Deep Ocean Challenge blog is a fortnightly challenge with a rather fabulous Design Team.

The latest challenge is a photo inspiration:

 vintage-style-pastel-flowers-for-wedding-bouquets-www_blusPhoto Inspiration

All you have to do is create something using the photo as your inspiration, and link up your blog post using the Inlinkz widget over on the current Deep Ocean Challenge Blog post.  The sponsor this week is the lovely online store The Ribbon Girl who sell beautiful ribbons and embellishments.

As you can see, I was a little “loose” with my interpretation of the photo.  I’m not much of a pretty pink/pastel girl, so I went a little darker. 😉

Yes, I made another tag.  You may have to get used to seeing tags here,  I’ve been bitten by the bug.

The gorgeous image is one of the SCACD Susana Loves Stamps designs.  This is “Vintage Eyes” and she is available from me in the UK at Quixotic Paperie either individually or in a set with the other “Eyes of Fables” stamps.  If you’re in the US you can find her at Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

I cut the tag from chipboard using the Tim Holtz Sizzix die, and a piece of Prima Marketing Inc Sunrise Sunset 6×6 paper (so pretty).  I added some handwritten wording (and no, I don’t love my handwriting although I’m trying to!), and then used some soft white chalk ink through stencil to soften the paper and writing a little.  I used up some alpha stickers (still on my “get stuff used” kick) and adhered the image to the tag before going around each with a charcoal pencil to help ground them on the paper.

That’s it!  Hope you’ll stop by and say hi and maybe join in with the challenge. 🙂

Finding Joy

I’ve been playing with those awesome new Susana Loves Stamps mixed media stamps again! Today’s tag perfectly expresses how I am feeling about exploring mixed media at the moment.

Aren’t those colours gorgeous? Just looking at this tag makes me happy, even though I’m not exactly a “pink” girl – this is just about the right amount of pink for me. The blue-green is very much me!

The stamp is one of the beautiful silhouettes from the latest Susana Loves Stamps release, and she comes in either the “Solid Blank Canvas & Leap of Faith” two stamp set, or in the larger extra value “Complete Blank Canvas #2 Collection” set.

US Readers can of course find the Susana Loves Stamps range at Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design in the US, along with many of the other goodies I have used.

I stamped the silhouette in black Archival Ink on top of my tag background, which was created using Art Anthology Colorations Mist and Distress Ink through a Studio Calico stencil.

The butterfly swarm is a Memory Box stamp (I have a fixation with butterflies at the moment).  Once all the stamping was done, I sprayed my tag with some fixative before covering in Glimmer Mist for some gorgeous sparkle.

The word “JOY” was created using some adhesive backed Scrabble tile letters I had in my stash, which I re-coloured with Distress Ink.  I finished off with some seam binding which I coloured with Distress Ink.

That’s it for today!  Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget – I’d love to hear from you if you have the time to leave a comment. 🙂

Even in Darkness There is Beauty

If you saw my blog post on Friday – “My Heart Bleeds – Something Different for the SCACD Release Hop“, you’ll be aware that I’m having a lot of fun getting inky/painty and exploring my less cute and cuddly side (which is actually the side I’m most comfortable with 😉 ).  Today I’ve got another tag to share with you, along similar lines.

I love making tags.  There’s just something fun about working within the confines of a tag, and it’s not as daunting as a full journal page or a canvas. I actually have another couple lined up to share with you soon, so I hope you’re enjoying them!  I’d love to hear from you, so please do feel free to leave a comment. 🙂

For today’s tag, I decided to join in with the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Challenge.  It is running until Friday 22nd March, so there is still time to play!

I of course, used the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die from the Sizzix Alterations range (and possibly the mini movers and shapers one too, I think – I die cut lots of flowers from both dies and played around).

The flowers were stamped with the “Wonky Clock” stamps from the new Susana Loves Stamps (SCACD) mixed media release.  This stamp is available in either the “Follow Your True Heart” set, or in the full Complete Accessories Collection set.  I embossed the stamp image and then used Distress Inks to colour the black flowers before layering them up to create the large flower.  In the centre I used a Prima Marketing Inc Vintage Trinkets brad and a Make it Crafty Lasercut Chipboard Cog Works cog covered in Fran’tage embossing enamel.

Behind the flower, I used one of my favourite dies – the Dies by SCACD “Alice’s Clock Statement Corner” die, which I used to cut some thin metal foil sheet.

The tag itself was first covered in a Golden Gel Medium with glass beads in it, which I then covered in a combination of Adirondack spray and Distress Stain, before applying some black acrylic paint through a stencil.

Phew!  Don’t worry, I’m not hanging up my marker tote, I’ll still be sharing lots of colouring fun too, but I do hope you will enjoy my little journey into mixed media as much as I am!

Following My True North & A Touch Twin Inspiration Hop

I’ve got another tag to share today!  I’m having a lot of fun making tags and playing with the new Susana Loves Stamps (SCACD) stamp release, plus some other new goodies that have found their way on to my desk.

Today’s tag was created for a fun informal inspiration hop the Touch Twin Markers and More design team are having.  We hope you will join us and enjoy the inspiration on offer.

For the focal point of my tag I used the new compass from the Susana Loves Stamps “Nature’s Direction” set, also available in the larger Complete Accessories Collection Set (US Readers: the Susana Loves Stamps sets are available in the US from Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design along with a host of other products, including Touch Twin Markers, Art Anthology sprays etc also used on this tag!). I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

ShinHan Touch Twin Markers Used: Y36, YR32, Y41, BR104, BR100, BR102, PB77, P83, for extra shading: WG2, WG5

I created the tag base by cutting it with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations die, then sprayed it with Art Anthology Colorations Spray in Mocha.  I stamped and embossed one of the female silhouettes from the Susana Loves Stamps Blank Canvas Women Set, and then added some extra texture to the tag using a stencil and some chalk ink.  I then applied my wording using alpha stickers and popped my coloured and cut out compass on the top!

That’s it!  I hope you’ve enjoyed stopping by and checking out my project today.  If you fancy leaving a comment, I would love to hear from you as always.

Here’s the hop list for you:

My Heart Bleeds – Something Different for the SCACD Release Hop!

Well, another week has whizzed on by.  As usual I’m in a complete daze, wondering where the time went and why I haven’t quite achieved everything I intended.  C’est la vie!
Today I am thrilled to be helping showcase the latest release from SCACD’s Susana Loves Stamps range.  This month Susana has a brilliant new mixed media collection for you, building on the original release (recently featured in Craft Stamper Magazine – February 2013 issue) to take you on new creative adventures!  Mix and match and use a variety of techniques to grace cards/papercrafting projects as well as altered canvases and other mixed media projects.
I’ve been tiptoeing around mixed media/art journaling/etc for a while, as you may know if you’re a regular reader – I’ve referred to it from time to time.  Mostly I’ve been admiring other people’s work, because oh my, there are some talented people out there creating a wide array of mixed media projects.
I’m starting to make time to jump in and be brave and have some inky painty fun.  Today’s tag is the result of a very fun session with stamps, paints, papers, Frantage, inks and of course my ShinHan Touch Twin markers.  Be warned, inky painty fun really brings out my WEIRD, and I have plenty of weird to go around. 😉
On my tag I have used the awesome heart stamp from the “Follow Your True Heart” set.
I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers., before cutting out ready to stick on my tag.
On the tag I used a sheet from the Prima Marketing Inc Engraver 6×6 pad (LOVE), which I liberally distressed with Frantage embossing enamel, a pair of scissors and distress ink.  I also created “blood” splatters by flicking Adirondack ink on to the tag.  After sticking my heart image on the tag, I outlined it with a charcoal pencil to help it stand out from the background.
That’s it!  The new stamps and some beautiful new Dies by SCACD dies are now available here in the UK at Quixotic Paperie and in the US at Susana’s Custom Art and Card Design!  Here are the links:
Finally here’s the hop list for you!  Make sure you take a look at all the designer’s blogs today, I know they each have something inspiring to show you!

Do the Monster Hop!

Today I’m joining in with a fun hop for the latest Susana Loves Stamps release from SCACD Stamps.  And when I say fun, I mean FUN!  The new release is a continuation of the “Oddly Sweet Curiosities” series, and as with the first two sets, the stamps being released today will definitely make you GRIN!

I’m your first stop on the hop today, so if you’re just joining us then you’re in the right place!  For a full list of the hop participants, pop on over to the SCACD Store Blog for full info.

I used two of my favourites for today’s post, and I love them so much that I created a couple of tags for my personal collection.  Loved colouring these!

Meet “Me & My L’il Buddy” and “Miracles Happen”.  Notice anything funny about them? 😉

Haha!  They crack me up.  Also, you may not be aware of the fact that I have a “thing” about dinosaurs.  Love dinosaur images.  I’m not sure why.  I was, as most children are, fascinated by dinosaurs as a child, and I simply don’t think I ever grew out of it.

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The designer paper is from an MME 12×12 pad – “Stomp” which I have been hoarding along with other dino themed papers.

Make sure you check out the rest of the hop, there are some very curious little characters on show today, you don’t want to miss them, they’re sure to bring a smile!

The next stop on the hop is the lovely DIANNE’S BLOG and I happen to know she’s showing off two more of my favourites!

The stamps are now available to order from Susana’s Custom Art and Card Design for US customers,

and from Quixotic Paperie for international customers!

What’s the time Mr Wolf?

Happy Friday!  It’s a dull and miserable day here in Dorset.  Grey and rainy.  The dog is tucked up in her bed, and I’m catching up with work.  On the bright side, it is perfect crafting weather. 😉

Today there is a fun blog hop going on with SCACD Stamps.  I’m in the hop, but you will need to pop on over to the Quixotic Paperie store blog – Quixotic Inspirations – to see my full card!  Make sure you join in as both Susana at SCACD and myself are giving away some blog candy to commenters.

Here’s a teaser…
