The Greeting Farm March Release Hop – Anya Blooms

Hi everyone!

It’s hard to believe that in just the last few short days, MARCH has arrived!  With it comes the release of FOUR new stamps at The Greeting Farm!

It’s been so much fun sharing the arrival of Anya Blooms, Blush Beatrice, CC Monday Morning, and the new Blush Crown stamp with you all this week…and we are pleased to announce that they are ALL available NOW in the TGF Store!

I used ANYA BLOOMS for my card today.  I just couldn’t resist colouring her up again, this time with a really summery vibe! You can see my earlier card featuring her HERE if you missed it.

2013_03_01_tgf_anyablooms

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The papers I used are from my scrap box, I’m not sure which brand, could be MME, or maybe Fancy Pants.  Once again, I added some interest to the edges with a Ranger Acrylic Paint Dabber in “Snow Cap”.

We have a spectacular BLOG HOP for you today, starting on the TGF blog!

Even more exciting?  ONE lucky winner will receive the ENTIRE MARCH RELEASE as the prize!  Simply follow the list of participants, including our fabulous PREMIERE Guest Team, leave some comments, and come back to the TGF BLOG letting us know you’ve hopped.  The winner will be announced on SATURDAY morning so you have until 11:30pm CST today to complete the hop and keep your fingers crossed!

Can’t wait to find out who wins?  Everything is now available in the store, so happy shopping and let’s MARCH into Spring!

The Greeting Farm – March Previews – Monday Morning (on Thursday)!

Today is the final day of the March previews at The Greeting Farm!  Plus, it is one day away from Friday – suh-weet!

It’s hard to decide, but I think today’s preview might just be my favourite.  I am partiularly fond of the Creeper stamps, and the new release – Monday Morning – is just brilliant.  Love her!

Make sure you check out everyone’s samples over on the TGF BLOG, and read today’s post over there to see how you can win the new Monday Morning stamp.

Here she is!

2013_02_28_tgf_mondaymorning

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The paper I used is from my scrap box (again, I am being very good indeed so far this year) and is an older Magnolia design.

I used one of the MFT Die-Namics Photo Corners in one corner, and one of my personal favourites – the Dies by SCACD – Alice’s Clock Statement Corner die in the opposite corner to embellish.  I also used Spellbinders circle and pinking circle dies for the image layer and mats.  I distressed the edges of the papers and the diecuts with an acrylic paint dabber in silver and added a button threaded with black twine to finish off!

The Greeting Farm – March Previews – Blush Beatrice!

I’m back today with another preview from The Greeting Farm‘s March release!  Today we are showing off the new cutie in the Blush Society line – Blush Beatrice and the new “accessory” stamps – a little set of two fab crowns, perfect for backgrounds etc.

Make sure you check out everyone’s samples over on the TGF BLOG, and read today’s post over there to see how you can win the new Blush Beatrice and Crown stamps!

I had lots of fun colouring little Beatrice up.

2013_02_27_tgf_blushbeatrice

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The papers are a mixture from my scrap box, probably My Mind’s Eye.  I used Spellbinders dies to diecut the image and sentiment layers and mats, and distressed the edges of all the papers with a white acrylic paint dabber.  I used the smaller of the two crown stamps to accent the sentiment and make a feature of it.

That’s it!  Hope you’ve enjoyed checking out my post today. :)

The Greeting Farm – March Previews – Anya Blooms!

I am thrilled to be joining in with the fun at The Greeting Farm as a guest designer for the March release previews this week.  I’ve been a fan of The Greeting Farm since the beginning, so I was excited to join them as a guest this month, and even more excited when I saw the awesome images being released.

This first day of previews is for a new Anya set – Anya Blooms.  As you will see, she is utterly gorgeous!  I love the larger Anya stamp sets, and I think this one may actually be my favourite so far.  She’s just…so…pretty!

2013_02_26_tgf_anyablooms

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  The paper I used is actually a magazine freebie I had in my scrap box. I think it is by Raspberry Road.  I used a combination of MFT Die-Namics Photo Corners and Dies by SCACD Garden Corners dies to embellish, along with some little gems.  I distressed the edges of the papers with an acrylic paint dabber in white, and also did some sewing!

The sentiment is one of the ones that comes in the set – perfect!

What do you think? She definitely has me cheered up and thinking of Spring/Summer!

Pop on over to the The Greeting Farm blog to check out some more samples with this stamp set, and to join in for the chance to WIN one for yourself!

Birthday Princess

This week I needed to create a birthday card for our niece’s 6th birthday.  She’s a typical 6 year old girl and loves all things princess/fairy/pink/pretty.  Hunting through my stamp collection I found poor Princess Anya #2 from The Greeting Farm sitting unloved!  Perfect.

I also realised this would be the perfect colouring project for the latest colouring challenge over at Touch Twin Markers & More Challenge Blog.  The current challenge is a colour inspiration, and you will find all of the details over there in THIS POST, where you can also submit your entries!

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

The little circle sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Mini Party Letter Seals set. The designer papers are a mixture of Magnolia Stamps papers.

I used a few different dies on this card.  Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles for the sentiment, layered on top of a Magnolia DooHickey Star Tag.  I used my favourite Dies by SCACD Garden Corners die for the corners, and I used MFT Dienamics Scallop Ribbon Border Die across the middle.  Phew!

I decorated the inside of the card to match, using the same border and corner dies to accent.

Build-a-Onesie Baby Cards & Custom Decorative Tape

I love some of the clear sets available from companies like The Greeting Farm and Some Odd Girl.  They are excellent value and some of the little accessory stamps are perfect for creating quick and easy notecards that are also totally adorable.

Today I’d like to share a quick look at how I used the Build-a-Onesie Girl & Boy sets from The Greeting Farm’s clear stamp range.  These sets are ideal for creating all sorts of baby themed projects, particularly thank you notes and baby announcements – they look fab with minimal colouring!

After seeing an article in a magazine about creating custom decorative tapes using artist’s masking tape, I decided to dig out my rolls of tape and see how well it would work with markers. It worked pretty well, and is an awesome and fun way to put the little accessory stamps to use. I used Eclipse artist masking tape, which is a nice bright white and has a smooth surface.  It is of course quite thin, and so you do need to use a light touch when colouring with alcohol based markers to avoid bleeding.  It won’t stand up to a great deal of layering and will saturate quickly, but I didn’t have any problems with this quick colouring project.

I used ShinHan Touch Twin Markers to colour, and you will find the details of colours used at the end of this post.  The onesies were stamped on Make it Colour Blending Card and cut out.

The final picture shows how the tape looks on the reverse side.

You could easily create enough tape for a set of cards – lay out long strips of the tape, stamp and colour up and then cut to size for each card. Fairly speedy and so effective, not to mention cheap!

Marker details.  The list of markers may look huge, but some of the same colours are used throughout and many of them were used to build up the dotty backgrounds on the tape.  I didn’t do a great deal of involved colouring/blending on these cards.

Wicked Birthday Wishes!

Today I’d like to share a fun card I created for Paul’s birthday earlier this month. Like me, he’s a fan of the Cheeky Cherry range from The Greeting Farm!  Really, it was great to have an excuse to ink one of them up – and I have promised myself I will do this more often, as I had SO much fun colouring her.

The stamp I used is from the Naughty or Nice set.  Absolutely love this one, very cheeky indeed!

The Greeting Farm - Naughty or Nice - available at www.quixoticpaperie.co.uk

I coloured her with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers on Make it Colour Blending Card (see pic below for marker details).  The designer papers are a mixture of My Mind’s Eye Alphabet Soup Boy and Fancy Pants Saint Nick.  I created the sentiment on the computer and printed it out.

You’re The Rainbow After The Storm

Well, thank goodness it’s Friday!  I’ve finally conquered the order mountain this week and all those Sylvia Zet for SCACD Stamps pre-orders have flown off to their new homes.  Can’t wait to see what you all create with them!  I’ve got cards featuring them, lined up to share with you over the next couple of weeks.  I absolutely had to make something with each stamp, love them all!

Anyway, today I’m sharing a card featuring an image I coloured a few months ago!  I couldn’t wait to colour her up when the stamps arrived, and then the coloured image lay forgotten in a drawer, no doubt after I was distracted by something far less fun!  So, here is my card featuring the beautiful SIMPLY GORJUSS – PUDDLES OF LOVE.

Simply Gorjuss Stamps available at www.quixoticpaperie.co.uk

I coloured her with Copic Markers.  Not entirely sure, but I think the papers are from one of the Prima 6×6 pads Thank you Kathy for reminding me – the papers are Echo Park Victoria Gardens - not sure how I forgot that one!!  The sentiment is from The Greeting Farm – Because of You sentiment set.  The yummy chipboard corners are from a Make it Crafty chipboard pack.

The Greeting Farm - Oliver & Amelia Surprise - www.quixoticcards.com

A Slightly Different Look For Oliver!

Recently, my friend Zoe, fearless leader (hehe) of the Make it Colourful team and owner of Make it Crafty, posted a beautifully coloured image.  That in itself was no surprise, Zoe always posts beautifully coloured images.  This time though, the image had been stamped with a very pale ink, so the image when coloured had no outline.  The effect is very cool, rendering images that would look at home in a children’s storybook.  Check out Zoe’s post HERE.

Lots of people have been joining in, and posting their efforts in the Make it Crafty Facebook Group.  Some truly stunning work on show, and if you love colouring this friendly group is well worth joining.

So, finally, I have been brave.  I almost chickened out, because some of the images posted have been utterly amazing.  Zoe wasn’t letting me get away with it though, so here’s my effort!

I coloured the adorable Oliver from The Greeting Farm – Oliver & Amelia Surprise stamp set with Copics on Make it Colour Blending Card (which proved invaluable, as I did a lot of layering on the hair).  I stamped him with Adirondack Dye based Ink – Lake Mist, although it was still a little dark, so I stamped it on a piece of scrap paper first.

The results aren’t perfect, but I’m pleased with my first effort!

The Greeting Farm - Oliver & Amelia Surprise - www.quixoticcards.com

Colouring without the black outline definitely requires more thought in terms of shading, and I found it a very fun and rewarding exercise.  Definitely one I’ll repeat again!

Copics Used:

Skin: E000, E21, E11 Hair: E70, E71, E74, E77 Outfit: B41, B45, BG70, BG72, E40, E42, E43, W00, W2, W3, W5 Gift: G0000, G82, G85, Y21, Y26, Y28

If you use FaceBook, do join the Make it Crafty FB Group and let us know if you give this a try, it’s fantastic seeing everyone’s images popping up!

Urban Love

Hope you’re having a good week.  Lots of positive thoughts and best wishes to any of you who are in areas of the UK affected by the awful events this week.

Now, finally, I have something to show you!  Truth be told, I have a box filled with polybags, which in turn are each filled with coloured images and papers, embellishments etc ready to be assembled into cards.  That box has been sitting untouched for over a week while I have been finishing off some projects that unfortunately I can’t share with you just yet.

So, this is the first of my “here’s one I half made earlier” cards!

I absolutely love The Greeting Farm images, particularly the Creeper Crew range, so this little scene was a pleasure to colour up and put together.

The Greeting Farm Creeper Crew available at www.quixoticpaperie.co.uk

The two characters are from the fantastic Creeper Crew Creepin’ Kit, which gives you SEVEN characters and EIGHT coordinating sentiments all for £34.99.  Great value, and there’s a lot of fun to be had with these images.

The fab Street Art Background is one of the awesome Whimsy Stamps background stamps, which I love.

Coloured with Copics on Make it Colour Blending Card (now also available in 50 sheet packs).  Unfortunately I don’t have the full list of Copics used, as I coloured this a while ago.  If you have any questions though, ask away and I will try to help!
