A BIG Welcome to the release day of stamps from the NEW artist over at Susana’s Custom Art and Card Design!

Carmen Medlin – The Reflections Release

We Quixotic Paperie girls are sooo excited to be joining in with SCACD to celebrate this wonderful new artist that has joined the SCACD talented group of stamp designers! Of course you will be able to get your hands on these gorgeous new stamps from Quixotic Paperie!

If you are hopping away already then you should have arrived at my blog from SUZANNE DEAN’S BLOG – SCRAP BITZ.  Suzanne is the first stop on the hop, so if you’ve just joined us, pop over to her blog first and then hop from there!

Here is my make and I have used the gorgeous new CARMEN MEDLIN FOR SCACD – FAIRY QUEEN.  I adore all of Carmen’s illustrations, but this one in particular speaks to me!  As you all know, I love cute, quirky, spooky, you name it.  My first love however, is fantasy art – beautifully illustrated fairies, elves, wizards etc.  So, instead of a card I have made a piece that will go in a frame for my craft room, once I find the right frame!

Isn’t she gorgeous?  Love that dress.  I created the frame around Fairy Queen using Grunge Paper, Nestabilities dies, Stempelglede Grunge Collection stamps, Distress Ink – Fired Brick and Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel.  The flowers were also created using Stempelglede Grunge Collection stamps, Grunge Paper, some shimmery paint and UTEE.

The paper is from the Tim Holtz – Lost & Found 12×12 paper stack, and I distressed the edges with Distress Ink – Fired Brick and gave it a coat of gold shimmering paint before mounting it on chipboard.  I also added a Tim Holtz Ideaology Philosophy Tag which I gave a light sanding first!
