Embrace – Create – Redefine

Thank you for all your wonderful comments on yesterday’s post!  I know I’ve been quite quiet over the last couple of months, so thank you for bearing with me.

Today I’d like to show off a card featuring one of the new Dies by SCACD designs!  I know, in yesterday’s post I said Sunday, but I couldn’t wait.   So, here I am!

Isn’t that diecut gorgeous?  I love it, both for the wonderful detail (which cuts beautifully) and for the theme.  I really connected with the idea of the Uncaged Bird, which of course goes perfectly with the new direction Susana has taken with this release and the mixed media stamp release.

I coloured the diecut with Twinkling H2Os, so it has a lovely shimmer to it.  I did the same with the corners, which were cut using one of the dies from the Garden Corners set.

On the circle behind the diecut, I embraced my new found bravery and used a Copic Multiliner to handwrite the words Embrace – Create – Redefine.  I also lightly defined the edges of the cardstock layers with a Distress Marker.

I promise, I haven’t thrown my markers out, I’m just having fun exploring some other techniques and styles!  I’m hoping to mix it up a little here on the blog, as I delve into some things I’ve been meaning to try out for ages!  I hope you’ll stick with me along the way and maybe do a little experimenting too.
