Today I have the pleasure of joining the Deep Ocean Challenge as a guest!  If you’re not familiar with them, the Deep Ocean Challenge blog is a fortnightly challenge with a rather fabulous Design Team.

The latest challenge is a photo inspiration:

All you have to do is create something using the photo as your inspiration, and link up your blog post using the Inlinkz widget over on the current Deep Ocean Challenge Blog post.  The sponsor this week is the lovely online store The Ribbon Girl who sell beautiful ribbons and embellishments.

As you can see, I was a little “loose” with my interpretation of the photo.  I’m not much of a pretty pink/pastel girl, so I went a little darker. 😉

Yes, I made another tag.  You may have to get used to seeing tags here,  I’ve been bitten by the bug.

The gorgeous image is one of the SCACD Susana Loves Stamps designs.  This is “Vintage Eyes” and she is available from me in the UK at Quixotic Paperie either individually or in a set with the other “Eyes of Fables” stamps.  If you’re in the US you can find her at Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.

I cut the tag from chipboard using the Tim Holtz Sizzix die, and a piece of Prima Marketing Inc Sunrise Sunset 6×6 paper (so pretty).  I added some handwritten wording (and no, I don’t love my handwriting although I’m trying to!), and then used some soft white chalk ink through stencil to soften the paper and writing a little.  I used up some alpha stickers (still on my “get stuff used” kick) and adhered the image to the tag before going around each with a charcoal pencil to help ground them on the paper.

That’s it!  Hope you’ll stop by and say hi and maybe join in with the challenge. 🙂
