Stamping Bella - The Woodsies - Gilbert Has a Snack - www.markergeek.com

I am rather excited to share today’s post with you! Today is release day for a fantastic range of images from Stamping Bella and I have got an adorable card to show you featuring one of my new favourites.

As you may be aware I do the colouring for many of the product images on the Stamping Bella website and the new product packaging. During January I had the privilege of colouring the product images for most of the new release, so I can absolutely vouch for how much fun all the new images are to colour! Read on to get all the info and check out my latest card.

A Brand New Stamp Line

Today’s card features one of the stamps from a new line – The Woodsies. These are without doubt my favourite images in the release. I loved colouring them, especially because I have been meaning to step outside my comfort zone and colour more animal images for a while, and they presented the perfect opportunity.

The Woodsies are sweet, sentimental and beautifully illustrated. They will be perfect for adults and children alike, and a host of different occasions. As far as colouring goes, I can see these suiting markers, watercolour and pencils beautifully (or combinations of any of these). I coloured them with markers this time, but I definitely plan on playing with pencils and more soon.

The Card

Meet Gilbert. I love him. No. I really, really, love him. Love, love, love.

As a child I had lots of guinea pigs and rabbits. We had a lot of outdoor space and I pretty much lined the garden with hutches. The guinea pigs were my favourites, so sweet and so very chatty. Utterly adorable little characters. So yes, Gilbert is my favourite, he makes me smile.

Wouldn’t this be a perfect little card to send to a friend in need of cheering up? I mean, just look at those little feet! Eek!

The Details

US/Canada: Grab the new releases direct from Stamping Bella

UK/Europe: Pre-order the new Stamping Bella releases from me at Quixotic Paperie with 10% off until 16th February 2015! I expect the stamps to arrive in stock before the end of February.

I stamped Gilbert with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card before colouring with Copic markers.

I die cut the image using a die from the Lil’ Inker Designs Stitched Mats Rounded Rectangles die set (available here in the UK from my friend Tara at Make the Day Special). I also cut a couple of pieces from a slightly heavier weight white cardstock and layered them all together to create a nice sturdy piece. I wanted to give the image layer a little dimension to stand out from the card and give a nice slightly more substantial feel to the card overall.

I cut a mat layer using a larger die from the same Lil’ Inker Designs die set and then another with the largest die in the set which I coloured with a Copic marker to perfectly coordinate with my image and a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker to add some fun sparkle. You can see an example of how I do this with some tips on a previous post: Merry Christmas with Uptown Girl Savannah.

The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn  So Much To Say sentiment set (available here in the UK from my friend Tara at Make the Day Special).

Colouring Information

If you want to find out the details of the Copic markers I used to colour Gilbert, when you purchase the stamp (which you absolutely should because I want to see lots of Gilbert cards out there in blog-land) from Stamping Bella or any retailer you can get a free Colour Map with all the marker details broken down for you. These are available for all of the newest images, and older images will become available soon.
