So, it has been a pretty quiet week here on my blog!  It got to Thursday and I suddenly realised I hadn’t blogged since the weekend.  There has been so much going on that I haven’t had time to finish cards, although I have a number “in progress”.  Will have to rectify that!  Unfortunately at the moment, I’m much more interested in colouring than actually finishing projects.  It’s probably no secret that colouring images is my favourite part of this hobby.

I do have a card to share today, for the Make It Colourful challenge, and when you see it, try not to fall off your chairs!

The challenge this week is: YELLOW and PURPLE.  Firstly – remember that this is a colouring challenge.  We want to see images featuring yellow and purple.  You don’t have to colour entirely in these colours, but they must be there!  Use both yellow and purple in your colouring this week to compliment one another.  You could colour a yellow shirt and purple trousers or a purple roof and yellow walls!  Maybe a bunch of flowers with some in yellow and some in purple.  I’m sure you can also think of some other ways to approach the challenge!

Also – just one more reminder – the Make it Colourful challenge can be entered using ANY colouring medium. As long as you follow the challenge, you can use whatever medium you like!  Full challenge rules can be seen over on the Make It Colourful Challenge Blog, in the sidebar.

Yep, as you can see, I have coloured a TILDA image!  It has been quite some time since I last coloured Tilda or any of the other Magnolia images, and if you saw my collection, you’d find that quite alarming.  But, since the Make it Colourful sponsor this week is Magnolia-licious, it seemed fitting!

This is Mermaid Tilda and I masked and stamped her with the Make It Crafty ClamShell stamp.  You can see just how well the Make it Crafty background stamps work with characters from other companies.  With all the mermaid stamps out there, the ClamShell stamp is ideal! (Details on where to find the stamps and other products used can be found at the end of my post.)

I coloured the image with Copic Markers.  Here’s the list:

Tilda’s Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, R21 Tilda’s Hair: C2, C4, C6, C9, B63 Tilda’s Shell Top: YR0000, YR17, E34 Tilda’s Tail: BV0000, BV000, BV02, BV13

Clam Shell: R0000, R01, R11 Water: BG0000, BG10, BG11 Sand: E000, E30, E31

I also used BV13 to colour some white satin ribbon to match.

I wanted to add a little sparkle to the image to enhance the fantasy feel, so I used a Viva Decor Glitter Liner on the bubbles.  The papers used are from the Cosmo Cricket Salt Air 6×6 pad.  Those gorgeous corners are from one of the Make it Crafty chipboard packs, and I coloured them with Twinkling H20 paint.

I forgot how much fun it is to colour Tilda, and although you won’t be seeing her here too often, she might pop up again from time to time when the mood strikes, especially if a Make it Crafty background calls for her. 😉

I hope you will pop over to the Make it Colourful Blog this week and check out the rest of the DT creations, and also join in with us!  You have until SATURDAY 4th June Midday Australian Brisbane Time to play along.
