I have a new favourite. Steve Hammond’s Monster designs from Paper Makeup Stamps (available in the UK from Quixotic Paperie). They are so much fun to colour, and they totally crack me up!
Argus with Teddy is my favourite of the monsters so far, and more are on the way. I think they are perfect for more fun and edgy cards for kids and adults alike. As DT Member Kim Dellow said: “perfect for those little monsters in your life”. I quite agree. Here’s my card using Argus:
I’ve used more of the gorgeous My Mind’s Eye papers, Bloom and Grow this time, and the coordinating buttons and ribbons.
Argus and his teddy have been coloured with Copics, cut out and popped up on foam pads with an airbrushed background. As you can see from the detail image, I’ve covered the orange borders with Shimmerz in Candle Light, because I just couldn’t resist adding a little sparkle.

Speaking of both Paper Makeup and Shimmerz, I have something else to show you today! Quixotic Paperie DT member – Kim Dellow – has created a fab tutorial on using Shimmerz paints to highlight and colour images. Kim has used the gorgeous Christi Fairy stamp for her project, and I’m sure you’ll agree that she has done an amazing job!
