I’m not sure I can adequately express how excited I am to finally be able to share the new release from SCACD Stamps and the things I’ve been working on using the new stamps. I know, I’m always falling in love with a stamp (or ten), but this new release makes me extremely happy. It’s a lengthy post today so bear with me, but I am including lots of inspiration for you!

I have projects completed with all four of the new Elements Collection stamps, and will be sharing them over the next couple of weeks. For today’s hop I’m sharing Fire, and I hope you love her as much as I do. Before I share my projects for today, here’s a quick look at the collection:

My main project is a journal page. This year I’m making an effort to take time to play and create just for me, both to test out the various crafty mediums I’ve collected and also to work through things that are going on in life, in my head etc. The pages I’ve created with these new stamps were a lot of fun to work on – pure play! This page is in a hardback 8.5″x11″ mixed media journal, although I created the main part of the page on a piece of paper from a Canson XL mixed media pad.
I stamped “Fire” with Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black before creating the background using Derwent Inktense pencils, followed by some Pan Pastel shading around the image. The image was coloured using Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils. After colouring the image, I sealed the page with Matt Gel Medium. Extra colouring was added with Faber-Castell PITT Artist pens for additional contrast. I also stamped the Tim Holtz quote stamp on a piece of torn vellum which I added to the page and framed using the flame accessory stamp and some additional doodling.

I’ve definitely been having fun getting to know my Polychromos pencils. Lots of room for improvement, but that’s a big part of the fun.
The second project I have to share today is a card I created using my marker coloured image.
For even more fun, I also created a quick card using the flame accessory stamp which comes with “Fire”.
